Multi-Strings on AdS_3 x S^3 from Matrix String Theory

We analyze the Coulomb branch of Matrix string theory in the presence of NS5-branes. If we regard the components of U(1) gauge fields as the dualized longitudinal coordinates, we obtain the symmetric product of AdS_3 x S^3 x R^4 as the geometry of Coulomb branch. We observe that the absence or presence of the nonzero electric flux determines whether the string propagates in bulk as an ordinary closed string or is forced to live near the boundary. We further discuss the issues of the physical spectrum from the viewpoint of Matrix string theory. We show that the twisted sectors of CFT on the symmetric orbifold, which correspond to glued strings, turn out to yield many chiral primaries that were hitherto considered to be missing. Web API for biology with a workflow navigation system

DNA Data Bank of Japan (DDBJ) provides Web-based systems for biological analysis, called Web APIs for biology (WABI). So far, we have developed over 20 SOAP services and several workflows that consist of a series of method invocations. In this article, we present newly developed services of WABI, that is, REST-based Web services, additional workflows and a workflow navigation system. Each Web service and workflow can be used as a complete service or a building block for programmers to construct more complex information processing systems. The workflow navigation system aims to help non-programming biologists perform analysis tasks by providing next applicable services on Web browsers according to the output of a previously selected service. With this function, users can apply multiple services consecutively only by following links without any programming or manual copy-and-paste operations on Web browsers. The listed services are determined automatically by the system referring to the dictionaries of service categories, the input/output types of services and HTML tags. Anomalous Anisotropic Magnetoresistance in Heavy-Fermion PrFe4P12

We have investigated the anisotropy of the magnetoresistance in the Pr-based HF compound PrFe4P12. The large anisotropy of effective mass and its strong field dependence have been confirmed by resistivity measurements. Particularly for H||[111], where the effective mass is most strongly enhanced, the non-Fermi liquid behavior has been observed. Also, we have found the angular dependence of the magnetoresistance sharply enhanced at H||[111], which is evidently correlated with both the non-Fermi liquid behavior and the high-field ordered state (B-phase).Comment: 3 pages, 3 figures.
