Factors Influencing Purchase Intention on Mobile Shopping Web Site in China and South Korea: An Empirical Study
The research objective of this study is to analyze the factors that influence consumers\u27 perceptions of using mobile commerce services for online shopping in China and South Korea using ordered logistic regression analysis. We constructed the research model using the three dimensions of individual characteristics, shopping motivations and the characteristics of mobile shopping. We discovered that shopping frequency, utilitarianism, instant connectivity, and personalized information push positively impact the customers’ intention to use mobile phones in China. The results of the marginal effects indicated that the behavioral intentions of Chinese consumers increased when shopping frequency and instant connectivity increased. In addition, when utilitarianism and the personalized information push reach certain values, the shopping intention of online customers in China will decrease. Likewise, shopping frequency, hedonism, utilitarianism, instant connectivity, and SNS (Social Networking Services) accessibility positively affect the intention to use the Internet for m-shopping of South Korean consumers. In addition, the results regarding the marginal effects suggested that the intention to use m-shopping services on m-shopping web site of South Korean consumers increased as shopping frequency, hedonism, and instant connectivity increased. However, South Korean consumers\u27 adoption intention will decrease when utilitarianism and SNS accessibility reach certain values. These results provide important implications for mobile commerce literature and practice
TF-IDF Based Contextual Post-Filtering Recommendation Algorithm in Complex Interactive Situations of Online to Offline: An Empirical Study
O2O accelerates the integration of online and offline, promotes the upgrading of industrial structure and consumption pattern, meanwhile brings the information overload problem. This paper develops a post-context filtering recommendation algorithm based on TF-IDF, which improves the existing algorithms. Combined with contextual association probability and contextual universal importance, a contextual preference prediction model was constructed to adjust the initial score of the traditional recommendation combined with item category preference to generate the final result. The example of the catering industry shows that the proposed algorithm is more effective than the improved algorithm
Information Entropy Theory Based Recognition of the Validity of Contextual Information of Restaurants: An Empirical Study
Contextual information plays a key role in personalized recommendations. However, not all contextual information plays a positive role in personalized recommendations. Therefore, it is critical to identify the effective contextual information to realize personalized recommendations. This study aims to develop a set of feasible context importance calculation methods that can identify effective contextual information in different application scenarios. The information entropy of each contextual dimension is calculated, and the validity of the context compared according to the magnitude of its entropy is determined based on the informational entropy theory. Subsequently, this approach is applied to hotel and catering service data to determine the valid context in the dining domain. The experimental results indicate that location, work-rest condition, weather, mood and companionship considerably influence consumers’ behaviour and decisions in a catering environment, and the user preference in such contexts should be carefully considered
Effects of the endoparasitoid Cotesia chilonis (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) parasitism, venom, and calyx fluid on cellular and humoral immunity of its host Chilo suppressalis (Lepidoptera: Crambidae) larvae
AbstractThe larval endoparasitoid Cotesia chilonis injects venom and bracoviruses into its host Chilo suppressalis during oviposition. Here we study the effects of the polydnavirus (PDV)-carrying endoparasitoid C. chilonis (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) parasitism, venom and calyx fluid on host cellular and humoral immunity, specifically hemocyte composition, cellular spreading, encapsulation and melanization. Total hemocyte counts (THCs) were higher in parasitized larvae than in unparasitized larvae in the late stages following parasitization. While both plasmatocyte and granulocyte fractions and hemocyte mortality did not differ between parasitized and unparasitized hosts, in vitro spreading behavior of hemocytes was inhibited significantly by parasitism throughout the course of parasitoid development. C. chilonis parasitism suppressed the encapsulation response and melanization in the early stages. Venom alone did not alter cellular immune responses, including effects on THCs, mortality, hemocyte composition, cell spreading and encapsulation, but venom did inhibit humoral immunity by reducing melanization within 6h after injection. In contrast to venom, calyx fluid had a significant effect on cell spreading, encapsulation and melanization from 6h after injection. Dose–response injection studies indicated the effects of venom and calyx fluid synergized, showing a stronger and more persistent reduction in immune system responses than the effect of either injected alone
A Survey on Approximate Multiplier Designs for Energy Efficiency: From Algorithms to Circuits
Given the stringent requirements of energy efficiency for Internet-of-Things
edge devices, approximate multipliers, as a basic component of many processors
and accelerators, have been constantly proposed and studied for decades,
especially in error-resilient applications. The computation error and energy
efficiency largely depend on how and where the approximation is introduced into
a design. Thus, this article aims to provide a comprehensive review of the
approximation techniques in multiplier designs ranging from algorithms and
architectures to circuits. We have implemented representative approximate
multiplier designs in each category to understand the impact of the design
techniques on accuracy and efficiency. The designs can then be effectively
deployed in high-level applications, such as machine learning, to gain energy

Role of autophagy-related proteins ATG8f and ATG8h in the maintenance of autophagic activity in Arabidopsis roots under phosphate starvation
Nutrient starvation-induced autophagy is a conserved process in eukaryotes. Plants defective in autophagy show hypersensitivity to carbon and nitrogen limitation. However, the role of autophagy in plant phosphate (Pi) starvation response is relatively less explored. Among the core autophagy-related (ATG) genes, ATG8 encodes a ubiquitin-like protein involved in autophagosome formation and selective cargo recruitment. The Arabidopsis thaliana ATG8 genes, AtATG8f and AtATG8h, are notably induced in roots under low Pi. In this study, we show that such upregulation correlates with their promoter activities and can be suppressed in the phosphate response 1 (phr1) mutant. Yeast one-hybrid analysis failed to attest the binding of the AtPHR1 transcription factor to the promoter regions of AtATG8f and AtATG8h. Dual luciferase reporter assays in Arabidopsis mesophyll protoplasts also indicated that AtPHR1 could not transactivate the expression of both genes. Loss of AtATG8f and AtATG8h leads to decreased root microsomal-enriched ATG8 but increased ATG8 lipidation. Moreover, atg8f/atg8h mutants exhibit reduced autophagic flux estimated by the vacuolar degradation of ATG8 in the Pi-limited root but maintain normal cellular Pi homeostasis with reduced number of lateral roots. While the expression patterns of AtATG8f and AtATG8h overlap in the root stele, AtATG8f is more strongly expressed in the root apex and root hair and remarkably at sites where lateral root primordia develop. We hypothesize that Pi starvation-induction of AtATG8f and AtATG8h may not directly contribute to Pi recycling but rely on a second wave of transcriptional activation triggered by PHR1 that fine-tunes cell type-specific autophagic activity
In-orbit background simulation of a type-B CATCH satellite
The Chasing All Transients Constellation Hunters (CATCH) space mission plans
to launch three types of micro-satellites (A, B, and C). The type-B CATCH
satellites are dedicated to locating transients and detecting their
time-dependent energy spectra. A type-B satellite is equipped with lightweight
Wolter-I X-ray optics and an array of position-sensitive multi-pixel Silicon
Drift Detectors. To optimize the scientific payloads for operating properly in
orbit and performing the observations with high sensitivities, this work
performs an in-orbit background simulation of a type-B CATCH satellite using
the Geant4 toolkit. It shows that the persistent background is dominated by the
cosmic X-ray diffuse background and the cosmic-ray protons. The dynamic
background is also estimated considering trapped charged particles in the
radiation belts and low-energy charged particles near the geomagnetic equator,
which is dominated by the incident electrons outside the aperture. The
simulated persistent background within the focal spot is used to estimate the
observation sensitivity, i.e. 4.2210 erg cm s
with an exposure of 10 s and a Crab-like source spectrum, which can be
utilized further to optimize the shielding design. The simulated in-orbit
background also suggests that the magnetic diverter just underneath the optics
may be unnecessary in this kind of micro-satellites, because the dynamic
background induced by charged particles outside the aperture is around 3 orders
