Anomalous momentum dependence of the multiband electronic structure of FeSe_1-xTe_x superconductors induced by atomic disorder
When periodicity of crystal is disturbed by atomic disorder, its electronic
state becomes inhomogeneous and band dispersion is obscured. In case of
Fe-based superconductors, disorder of chalcogen/pnictogen height causes
disorder of Fe 3d level splitting. Here, we report an angle-resolved
photoemission spectroscopy study on FeSe_1-xTe_x with the chalcogen height
disorder, showing that the disorder affects the Fe 3d band dispersions in an
orbital-selective way instead of simple obscuring effect. The reverse of the Fe
3d level splitting due to the chalcogen height difference causes the splitting
of the hole band with Fe 3d x^2-y^2 character around the Gamma point.Comment: 5 pages, 4 figure
Endothelin-1 Production by Normal Human Cultured Keratinocytes and its Regulation
The possibility that cultured keratinocytes produce
endothelins were investigated. The results showed that
cultured keratinocytes derived from normal human
skin produce endothelin-1. Moreover, keratinocyte
endothelin-1 production was completely inhibited by the
presence of actinomycin D in the medium. As in the case
of endothelial cells, recombinant interleukin-1β was
capable of promoting endothelin-1 production in
keratinocytes, whereas herapin inhibited it. Thrombin
also inhibited endothelin-1 production. These results indicate
that the mechanism of endothelin-1 production in
keratinocytes is slightly different from the mechanism in
vascular endothelial cells
An educational program for the unit of "Function of Running Water" in Science at the fifth grade using a transparent round shape water tank
We devised the science class using the transparent round shape water tank in the unit of "the function of running water" for the fifth grade of elementary school and practiced it. From a point of view that we control a condition and examine, the aim that we introduced a transparent round shape water tank into the unit is to observe the movement of sand grains carefully and to consider the change of the sand bed form in connecting with the number of times of stir to make water flow. This experiment can be carried out easily without special preparations. The children were able to perform experiments with interests, and to aware of the change in sand bed. Significance to introduce the experiment into the unit rises more by devising consideration of contents
