The Tweed Museum of Art is proud to announce an exhibition of fine studio ceramics by masters in the field. The exhibition, Resurfaced, Reformed: Evolution in Studio Ceramics, curated by former Tweed Museum Curator Joan Slack, will be on exhibition from August 19, 2014 through August 1, 2015. Nearly 77 works will be on display representing artists who have earned regional, national and international recognition. Be it through technique, ability to bridge cultures, or educational influence, these potters developed ideas, dialogue, and innovations that would profoundly affect the following generations. Due in part to the generous legacy of former UMD ceramics professor Glenn C. Nelson, the Tweed Museum of Art owns a diverse and exciting collection of ceramic art, which forms the foundation of this exhibit. The artworks offer historical context, while visually describing the emergence of an American ceramic revolution that occurred mid-20th century. The Bemidji State University in cooperation with the Tweed Museum of Art is loaning a selection of works from the Harlow collection to add depth and variety to the exhibition.Resurfaced and Reformed: Evolution in Studio Ceramics an exhibit running August 19, 2014 to August 1, 2015, with an OPENING RECEPTION Tuesday, September 30, 2014, 6:00 – 8:00 pm, at the Tweed Museum of ArtTweed Museum of Ar
