In the Latin American literary creation of the twentieth century, the fictions of Jewish authors have pursued a secluded trajectory, almost silent, compared to the continent canonical writing. However, around the seventies came a female Jewish literary production that has achieved international fame. This thesis examines the literary specificity of contemporary female Jewish humour around the definition of identity and the role of gender in order to understand the cultural hybridity representation in the literary text. Humour as catharsis of conflicts analyzes the relationship between the self and others, through a judgment of reality to manifest as a concern, responsibility and a critical compromise.
The analysis of the fictions of Alicia Stemberg, Silvia Plager and Ana MarÃa Shúa reconfigure the Jewish Diasporas and the meaning of the feminine universe through the importance of the culinary field as well as the influence of Argentine modernity in Jewish tradition. This study analyzes the novels Músicos y relojeros, Como para varenikes and the short histories Risas emociones the cocina judÃa where Steimberg, Plager and Shúa describe the Jewish history with different humorous intentions.
In the first part of this thesis, various theoretical perspectives that emphasize the psychological, social and psychoanalytic implications of humour in general, minority humour, female humour and Jewish humour are studied. In the following three chapters, we proceed to a reading of the texts mentioned above in order to interpret the concerns of our research from the rules that religion and society impose. Finally, the conclusion discusses the evolution of a vision between black humour, humour as a social critique and humour as a playful game as a search of the hybrid identity through a critique of traditions
BGB and BSC Systems (1949-56). The prefabricated dwellings of Antonio Bonet
estructura o la envolventeAs a result of Antonio Bonet’s first experiences with prefabrication, and his interest in geometry and the
modulation of space, during his Argentinian stage in the 1950s, he developed two trials of totally industrialised
serial dwellings. The BGB and BSC Systems, were two constructive models of comprehensive prefabrication that
Bonet designed as possible technical solutions to the housing problems, and with which he attempted to improve
the middle-of-the-road construction, between the traditional and the standardised. Without losing their references,
contextualised within their production, and within the international debate around housing industrialisation, both
systems were designed from the habitable space and from its tectonics, surpassing the technical or the constructive,
to give rise to the quality of the architectural object. Contemplated as generalizable prototypes, Bonet designed
a single-family house in the case of the BGB System, and a block of houses for a neighbourhood unit in the BSC
System. In spite of the difference of scale, both prototypes considered the complete prefabrication of the house by
means of perfectly modulated elements that would allow variations, and which would resolve the small interior scale
of the furniture, the structure or the envelope
Teaching experience in university students using social networks
Social networks, specifically Facebook and Twitter, are currently one of the most mainstream forms of media in the world. Yet, its educational use for the dissemination of knowledge is not significantly evident. Under this premise, this report is presented, considering an experience in which teachers and university-level students used these networks as mediators of educational practices; such mediation was implemented in order to promote mobile learning as an option to facilitate the process of construction and socialization of knowledge. In this sense, the research presented aims to identify the experience and opinion of students regarding the influence of this strategy in achieving their learning. The quantitative methodology was applied through the application of a survey of students who participated and realized the importance of socialization of knowledge. The results showed favourable opinions regarding the use of these networks, highlighting the benefits of mobile learning as a way to streamline the training process. This proposal is to continue this type of strategy to promote flexible teaching-learning optionsPostprint (published version
Bio-adhesives from soy protein concentrate and montmorillonite: Rheological and thermal behaviour
The incorporation of different amounts of montmorillonite (MMT) to soy protein concentrate (SPC) was used to improve the performance of the bio-nano-adhesive obtained. X-Ray diffraction, rheology, thermogravimetric analysis and scanning electronic microscopy were carried out to characterize the adhesives, and dry and wet strength was used to determine the adhesion strength. In the rheological measurement, the incorporation of up to 3 wt% of MMT did not modify the consistency index values of the SPC, while an increase in the flow consistency index for higher concentrations can be observed due to a strong interaction between MMT and the protein. Besides, the flow point values increase four times with respect to the value obtained for SPC alone. The decomposition temperature of SPC increases with the addition of MMT, which provides a tortuous pathway that obstructs the diffusion of volatile products out of the bio-nano-adhesive. Further addition beyond 5 wt% led to the formation of agglomerates, as verified by SEM. Moreover, the roughness of the fractured surface of the matrix can explain the decrease of the net adhesion of the nano-particles to the SPC suspensions.Fil: Bacigalupe, Alejandro. Inhalable spray-dried chondroitin sulphate microparticles: effect of different solvents on particle properties and drug activity
Spray-drying stands as one of the most used techniques to produce inhalable microparticles, but several parameters from both the process and the used materials affect the properties of the resulting microparticles. In this work, we describe the production of drug-loaded chondroitin sulphate microparticles by spray-drying, testing the effect of using different solvents during the process. Full characterisation of the polymer and of the aerodynamic properties of the obtained microparticles are provided envisaging an application in inhalable tuberculosis therapy. The spray-dried microparticles successfully associated two first-line antitubercular drugs (isoniazid and rifabutin) with satisfactory production yield (up to 85%) and drug association efficiency (60%-95%). Ethanol and HCl were tested as co-solvents to aid the solubilisation of rifabutin and microparticles produced with the former generally revealed the best features, presenting a better ability to sustainably release rifabutin. Moreover, these presented aerodynamic properties compatible with deep lung deposition, with an aerodynamic diameter around 4 μm and fine particle fraction of approximately 44%. Finally, it was further demonstrated that the antitubercular activity of the drugs remained unchanged after encapsulation independently of the used solvent.UID/Multi/04326/2019; SFRH/BD/52426/2013; ED481B 2018/071info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
