    I review here some of the physics we are learning and expect to learn in the near future through the observation of cosmic rays. The study of cosmic rays involves a combination of data from accelerators, ground arrays, atmospheric fluorescence detectors and balloon and satellite experiments.     ELECTRON-BEAM DIAGNOSTICS, ACTIVATION AND KINETICS IN FREE JETS OF LOW DENSITY GAS

    The diagnostics and activation problems of the supersonic jets by the high energy electron beams and also the kinetic processes in the jets have een investigated. The basic mechamisms for excitation and deactivation of the N*002*99+(B*992 sum of *00i*99+) ions by a diagnoctic electron beam in the supersonic nitrogen jets have been investigated. The integral Boltzmann equation for spatial and energetical function of distributing the seconadary electron forming at gas ionization by an electron beam has been introduced. The Green function and Boltzmann equation solutions have been found, the excitation rates of the nitrogen molecules by an electron beam have been determined. The damping constants of the N*002*99+(B*992 sum of *00i*99+) ions by the nitrogen molecules at temperatures 5 - 300K have been determined firstrly. The probabilities of the rotational transitions at nitrogen excitation by an electron impact into the state of the N*002*99+(B*992 sum of *00i*99+) ion have been determined on base of the theory of sudden collisions. It has been shown that the excitation rates of the vibrational levels in the SiH*004 molecules in the beam plasma don't depend practically upon the concentration of the monosilane molecules in the mixture with argon. The method for constructing class of the accurate-solved equations for kinetics of the vibrational and rotational relaxation on base of using orthogonal polynomials connected with structure of the energetical molecile levels has been developed. The connected of the relaxation times in the moments of the energetical distribution of molecules with constants of the in-level kinetics has been obtained. The model of forming carbonic clusters and fullerenes in the turbulent jet forming at combustion of the graphite arc in the helium atmosphere has been constructed.
