Phase transitions for rock-scissors-paper game on different networks
Monte Carlo simulations and dynamical mean-field approximations are performed
to study the phase transitions in rock-scissors-paper game on different host
networks. These graphs are originated from lattices by introducing quenched and
annealed randomness simultaneously. In the resulting phase diagrams three
different stationary states are identified for all structures. The comparison
of results on different networks suggests that the value of clustering
coefficient plays an irrelevant role in the emergence of a global oscillating
phase. The critical behavior of phase transitions seems to be universal and can
be described by the same exponents.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figures, to be published in PR
Generalized mean-field study of a driven lattice gas
Generalized mean-field analysis has been performed to study the ordering
process in a half-filled square lattice-gas model with repulsive nearest
neighbor interaction under the influence of a uniform electric field. We have
determined the configuration probabilities on 2-, 4-, 5-, and 6-point clusters
excluding the possibility of sublattice ordering. The agreement between the
results of 6-point approximations and Monte Carlo simulations confirms the
absence of phase transition for sufficiently strong fields.Comment: 4 pages (REVTEX) with 4 PS figures (uuencoded
A REGRESSION MODEL
In the normal linear regression the least square estimation of the coefficients has a
series of nice properties. In addition the needed numerical calculations may be done a fairly
efficient way. For the case when the application of this widely used least square method is
not justified some further methods are suggested. But experience about their statistical and
numerical properties can hardly be found. This paper intends to help the practitioner to become
familiar with a type of non-least-square regression methods
Lattice Covering by Semicrosses of Arm Length 2
Using algebraic and graph theoretical methods we provide an algorithm to determine the integer lattice covering constant of a certain type of n-dimensional cubistic polyhedron. In particular, we verify a special case of a conjecture of S. K. Stein on covering finite abelian groups by cyclic subsets
Based on the results of sensory evaluation of chips products there is a connection between the results of scoring in the 100 points and 20 points systems. Although there was no significant difference between the salted samples and the samples with flavour of onion and sour cream based on the Student evaluation, but to the Kramer method the chips with onion and sour cream seem to be better than the salted ones
Flow properties of driven-diffusive lattice gases: theory and computer simulation
We develop n-cluster mean-field theories (0 < n < 5) for calculating the flow
properties of the non-equilibrium steady-states of the Katz-Lebowitz-Spohn
model of the driven diffusive lattice gas, with attractive and repulsive
inter-particle interactions, in both one and two dimensions for arbitrary
particle densities, temperature as well as the driving field. We compare our
theoretical results with the corresponding numerical data we have obtained from
the computer simulations to demonstrate the level of accuracy of our
theoretical predictions. We also compare our results with those for some other
prototype models, notably particle-hopping models of vehicular traffic, to
demonstrate the novel qualitative features we have observed in the
Katz-Lebowitz-Spohn model, emphasizing, in particular, the consequences of
repulsive inter-particle interactions.Comment: 12 RevTex page
Benefits of a marketing cooperative in transition agriculture: Mórakert purchasing and service co-operative
The paper analyses the potential benefits of marketing cooperatives in Hungary, employing a transaction cost economics framework. We found that the purchased quantity, the existence of contracts, flexibility and trust are the most important factors farmers consider when selling their products via a cooperative. The most striking result is that diversification has positive influences on the share of cooperatives in farmers’ sale. Furthermore, farmers with larger bargaining power have less willingness to sell their product to the cooperative. Surprisingly, asset specificity has rather negative effects on the share of cooperatives in members’ sales
Mikroelemek esszencialitása és az élelmiszervizsgálat = Essentiality of trace elements and food investigations
Because the concentration distribution of essential and non-essential micro elements within the healthy organisms shows significant difference, this fact can be used for clarification of biological role of the given elements. In case of essential elements the concentration range is narrow, the distribution is normal, in case of non-essential elements the interval is wide, the distribution is lognormal. Based on the measurements of Li and Sr content of radish samples the conclusion was the following: for higher plants Sr is essential, but Li is not. As a reference element Zn was used, which is definitely an essential element, and to the measurements the concentration range was narrow, the distribution normal. So, the trace element investigation of different foodstuffs can help for determination of biological role of micro elements
