At the Tuberculous Department in Kaźmierzówka a 3-year systematic treatment of enterobiosis in children was undertaken. The treatment started with 7-day therapeutic course of piperizine adipinate given twice under concurrent observation of prohylactic rules; afterwards, maintaining doses of the drug were administered for two days every second week. As a result of the treatment the number of the infected persons decreased from 57.4% to 1.6% and persisted at this level though the material of children was subject to constant change. Moreover, the studies were carried out in the selected Child Home in Lublin to test the possibility of reducing Enterobius vermicularis invasion exclusively by hygienic and sanitary measures. After 8 weeks there was a decrease in the number of enterobiosis cases. Prolonged prophylactic treatment in some families resulted in the disappearance of enterobiosis after 6,3, or 2 months, respectively
