IN VITRO-IN VIVO CORRELATIONSHIP APPROACH OF THE PREPARED MAGNETIC MICROSPHERES OF CYTARABINE
Objective: The objective of this study was to study the in vitro-in vivo correlationship between the magnetic microspheres prepared by continuous solvent evaporation (CSE) method by 32 factorial designs.
Methods: CSE technique was used in the preparation of magnetic microspheres. Drug used was cytarabine and mice were the animal model used to check the correlationship.
Results: The profiles are nearly identical and reveal that drug absorption is rapid. The in vivo drug absorbed was found to be in concordance with the in vitro release as seen in the superimposable curves.
Conclusion: Cytarabine effectively reduces the amount of drug released and consequently absorbed in vivo in the initial phase
An overview on microspheres
Microspheres are multiparticulate drug delivery systems which are prepared to obtain prolonged or controlled drug delivery to improve bioavailability, stability and to target the drug to specific site at a predetermined rate. They are made from polymeric waxy or other protective materials such as natural, semi synthetic and synthetic polymers. Microspheres are characteristically free flowing powders having particle size ranging from 1-1000 μm consisting of proteins or synthetic polymers. . The present review highlights various types of microspheres, different methods of preparation, its applications and also various parameters to evaluate their efficiency. Microspheres are various types like Bioadhesive microspheres, Magnetic microspheres, Floating microspheres, Radioactive microspheres, Polymeric microspheres, Biodegradable polymeric microspheres, Synthetic polymeric microspheres and are prepared by methods like Spray Drying, Solvent Evaporation, Single emulsion technique, Double emulsion technique, Phase separation coacervation technique, Spray drying and spray congealing, Solvent extraction. Microspheres have wide range of applications because of controlled and sustained release. This article also focuses on the various drugs that can be formulated into microspheres for controlled and sustained release
In vivo study on murine species using Cytarabine magnetic microspheres

Blood was procured and various hematological parameters were noted and compared. Animals were divided into four groups, antileukemial potential was found to be maximum in case of magnetic microspheres of Cytarabine. The study shows the Antileukemic potential of Cytarabine magnetic microspheres
Comprehensive Review on Herbal or Medicated Toothpaste--A Review on Herbal v/s Medicated Toothpaste
A dentifrices are the products which are used for oral hygiene such as freshness of mouth and to avoid tooth decay. The oral hygiene can be maintained throughout the day by using various dentifrices prepared by herbal and medicated ingredient. A tooth is small, calcified, whitish, structure found in the jaws of many vertebrates and used to breakdown food. Teeth are not made of bone but rather of multiple tissues of varying density and hardness. Dentifrices contain ingredients that help reduce caries, plaque, gingivitis, hypersensitivity, calculus, slain, halitosis. Herbal toothpaste where no chemicals, preservatives are added; instead glycerin and common salt are added as natural preservative. This toothpaste can cure various diseases as teeth like gingivitis, tooth decay, cavity, gum bleeding, bad breath and dental caries as well as it has antismoking and anti cancer properties. While medicated toothpaste is a type of toothpaste that applies a medicine to the teeth, gum and mouth. Some medicated toothpaste require pacific application technique or a set duration of contact with the teeth, gums and mouth in order to provide a medical benefit. As the name suggest, these toothpaste have some medicinal properties. They are created pacifically to help in solving an oral health issues
Traditional medicinal plants as scientifically proven Aphrodisiacs
Aphrodisiac is the word derived from Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of sexual, love and beauty. An aphrodisiac is defined as an agent (food or drug) that arouses sexual desire. Current sexual dysfunction therapy lack satisfactory success due to adverse effect, hence patients are seeking complementary and alternative medicine to treat sexual dysfunction. This review reveals that some plants and their extract have aphrodisiac activity, which are helpful for researcher to develop new herbal aphrodisiac formulations. In the recent years (2016-2018), interest in drugs of plant origin has been progressively increased
Magnetic microspheres: An Overview
Magnetic microspheres are supramolecular particles that are small to circulate through the capillaries without producing embolic occlusion but are sufficiently susceptible to be encaptured in microvessels. Magnetic microspheres are particles that target the drug to the target site, RES Clearance is minimised. Now-a-days magnetic microspheres are being a trend of controlled and rapid drug release for better absorption, better penetration, rapid drug release, controlled drug release, improved bioavailability, improved physical stability, target drug delivery etc. The review article discusses its use in cancer therapies, applications, advantages, disadvantages etc
A brief overview on transdermal patches and marketed preparations
Transdermal drug delivery systems, sometimes referred to as "patches," have significantly improved patient outcomes by offering the benefit of a relatively painless method of administering medication through the skin to provide a systemic effect. Benefits of these patches include regulated medication release, convenience of usage, and avoiding first-pass metabolism. Transdermal drug delivery system was presented to overcome the difficulties of drug delivery especially oral route. A transdermal patch is a medicated adhesive patch that is placed on the skin to deliver a specific dose of medication through the skin and into the bloodstream. It promotes healing to an injured area of the body. The review gives valuable information about the transdermal patch like its advantage, disadvantage, types of transdermal patch, factors basic components, methods, evaluation, technologies and marketed products
A REVIEW ON FLOATING TABLET
Pharmaceutical industries have received much interest in pharmaceutical research in the area of oral drug delivery more over on Gastro retentive drug delivery system that is Floating Drug Delivery System (FDDS).The objective of this study to review on FDDS focusing on its current advancement and its future. Floating systems are low density systems that have sufficiently buoyancy to flow over the gastric contents and remain buoyant in the stomach without affecting the gastric emptying rate for a prolonged period of time. Floating dosage forms can be prepared as tablets, capsule by adding suitable ingredients with excipients like hydrocolloids, inert fatty materials and buoyancy increasing agents. Various categories of drugs like antacids, antidiabetic, antifungal and anticancer drugs are formulated into FDDS. FDDS have bulk density less than gastric fluids that have sufficient buoyancy to float over the gastric contents and remain in the stomach for longer duration of time. This review article is in pursuit of giving detailed information on the pharmaceutical basis of their design, classification, advantages and disadvantages, factors affecting gastric residence time of FDDS, applications, and formulation of floating tablet
Alzheimer’s Disease Treatment with Herbal Prospective
Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a chronic, progressive, neurodegenerative disorder that places a substantial burden on patients, their families, and society. AD has no cure, but certain drugs are available, which can slow down the disease progression. During the past years, several agents have been approved that enhance cognition and global function of AD patients.
