Patient safety and quality management at the clinical interface

This chapter outlines the multiple current and emerging clinical interfaces in the transfusion chain between the blood supplier, the hospital blood bank, the clinician and the patient, and how they may be influenced to maintain and where necessary improve the quality of care and patient safety.
