Thematic newsletters from Abiodoc
The thematic newsletters allow the following of the French bibliographic news on a particular production or theme. More than 38 themes are available: beef cattle, horticulture, regulations, sector, advice, water-environment, etc.
The information contained in these newsletters includes the document references, summary, internet link of the document if it is available online, in order to be able to overview all the news in a few minutes.
ABioDoc, the French Documentation Centre specialising in Organic Farming, edits these newsletters (ABioDoc is a VetAgro Sup department missioned by the ministry of Agriculture).
They are sent free of charge by email after registration on the Biobase website. It is recommended not to subscribe to more than three different Thematic newsletters
Biopresse – monthly French bibliographic review on organic agriculture
Biopresse is a monthly French-speaking review that gathers bibliographic news related to organic farming. Every month, it compiles around a hundred summaries sorted by major themes (livestock, arable crops, horticulture, market, organic farming organisation, rural development, etc.).
The information is synthetic (document references, summary, internet link of the document if it is available online) in order to be able to overview all the news in 15 min.
This review also contains a "diary" part (events related to organic farming which will take place mainly in France) and a "news" part (calls for proposals, new projects, legislation and regulations in progress...).
ABioDoc, the French Documentation Centre specialises in Organic Farming, edits the Biopresse (ABioDoc is a VetAgro Sup department missioned by the Ministry of Agriculture).
This review is sent free of charge by email (PDF format) after registration on the ABioDoc website
Biobase - the most important french document archive specialised in organic farming
The Biobase is a French-speaking documentary database specialised in making organic agriculture knowledge freely accessible online. ABioDoc, the French Documentation Centre specialising in Organic Farming, manages this database (ABioDoc is a VetAgro Sup department missioned by the ministry of Agriculture).
The Biobase contains information on all types of production (livestock, arable crops, horticulture, etc.) and on the market (sector, statistics, etc.). It also contains information on more transversal themes (water management, biodiversity preservation, alternative medicines...). In 2021, this database contains nearly 42,000 references and is updated every month with nearly 100 new documents.
The database consultation provides access to the corresponding bibliographic records (document references and summary). To access the full version of the documents, it is possible to consult certain documents free of charge (online documents or in PDF format) or to order paid documents
Bio-étagères – Virtual "shelves"
The Bio-étagères or "Organic-shelves" is featured within the Biobase, the only French document database specialised focussing on organic farming. It allows quick access to all the documents contained, related to a specific topic. They were created by ABioDoc, the French Documentation Centre specialised in Organic Farming (manager of the Biobase), in order to facilitate the search of information by offering a selection of documents by topic.
The Bio-étagères were developed for two main production systems: livestock and arable crops. Each system is broken down into a number of themes (e.g. for livestock: pigs, dairy cattle, beef cattle, etc.) and sub-themes (e.g. for dairy cattle: welfare, conversion to organic farming, technical and economic references, feed…). Each sub-theme gives access to the corresponding bibliographic records (document references and summary). To access the full version of the documents, it is possible to consult certain documents free of charge (online documents or in PDF format) or to order paid documents
