Maximizing resource utilization by slicing of superscalar architecture

Superscalar architectural techniques increase instruction throughput from one instruction per cycle to more than one instruction per cycle. Modern processors make use of several processing resources to achieve this kind of throughput. Control units perform various functions to minimize stalls and to ensure a continuous feed of instructions to execution units. It is vital to ensure that instructions ready for execution do not encounter a bottleneck in the execution stage; This thesis work proposes a dynamic scheme to increase efficiency of execution stage by a methodology called block slicing. Implementing this concept in a wide, superscalar pipelined architecture introduces minimal additional hardware and delay in the pipeline. The hardware required for the implementation of the proposed scheme is designed and assessed in terms of cost and delay. Performance measures of speed-up, throughput and efficiency have been evaluated for the resulting pipeline and analyzed

Path integral action of a particle in κ\kappa-Minkowski spacetime

In this letter, we derive the path integral action of a particle in κ\kappa-Minkowski spacetime. The equation of motion for an arbitrary potential due to the κ\kappa-deformation of the Minkowski spacetime is then obtained. The action contains a dissipative term which owes its origin to the κ\kappa-Minkowski deformation parameter aa. We take the example of the harmonic oscillator and obtain the frequency of oscillations in the path integral approach as well as operator approach upto the first order in the deformation parameter aa. For studying this, we start with the κ\kappa-deformed dispersion relation which is invariant under the undeformed κ\kappa-Poincareˊ\acute{e} algebra and take the non-relativistic limit of the κ\kappa-deformed dispersion relation to find the Hamiltonian. The propagator for the free particle in the κ\kappa-Minkowski spacetime is also computed explicitly. In the limit, a→0a\rightarrow 0, the commutative results are recovered.Comment: 5 pages, To appear in Euro.Phys. Let

Finite Element Analysis and Optimization of Universal Joint Yoke using CAE Tools

    Get PDF
The objective of the universal joint yoke is to form connection between two shafts i.e. transmission shaft and drive shafts, whose axis intersect and the rotation of one shaft about its own axis results in the rotation of the other shaft about its axis. The work described here forms part of an optimization project carrying out the design optimization of universal joint yoke and drive shaft using the ANSYS software. The model of universal joint yoke has been developed in Solid works then imported in ANSYS workbench and the model of drive shaft has been generated in ANSYS itself. In this work finite element analysis of a universal joint yoke and drive shaft has been taken as a case study. In the present work the static analysis of universal joint yoke and a drive shaft has been carried out. The results for equivalent von-mises stress, strain and deformation has been plotted and compared with the existing results

Dowry Deaths: Proposing a Standard for Implementation of Domestic Legislation in Accordance with Human Rights Obligations

    Get PDF
This article discusses the due diligence standard of governmental responsibility, and measures the adequacy of India\u27s implementation of its national dowry death legislation in accordance with its international human rights obligations. India has enacted legislation designed to combat dowry violence. Although India\u27s laws seem to follow the letter of its international human rights obligations, the country violates the spirit of human rights by lacking an actual commitment to implement this legislation. This Article demonstrates and examines India\u27s breach of its duty of due diligence. Such a breach constitutes government complicity in condoning and perpetuating dowry deaths, which violate women\u27s human rights in India. Through this complicity, India dishonors its obligations under the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Covenant on Social, Economic, and Cultural Rights, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the Convention of Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, the Declaration on the Elimination of Violence Against Women, and the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action
