Flux tubes in the SU(3) vacuum

We analyze the distribution of the chromoelectric field generated by a static quark-antiquark pair in the SU(3) vacuum. We find that the transverse profile of the flux tube resembles the dual version of the Abrikosov vortex field distribution and give an estimate of the London penetration length in the confined vacuum.Comment: 7 pages, 3 figures, poster contribution to the XXIX International Symposium on Lattice Field Theory, LATTICE 201

Analysis of food supplement with unusual raspberry ketone content

    Get PDF
In recent years food supplement market increased constantly, including slimming products and against obesity. The case of rasberry ketone (RK) is here reported. HPTLC and HPLC-DAD analyses on a marketed product containing raspberry juice evidenced an abnormal quantity of RK, not in accordance with the juice natural content. The reported data confirm the need of adequate controls on marketed food supplements and the necessity of a complete adherence between labelling and real constitution of the product. Practical Applications: Determining the natural origin and assuring the consumers' safety for raspberry-based food supplement

    Reflective Scattering and Unitarity

Interpretation of unitarity saturation as reflective scattering is discussed. Analogies with optics and Berry phase alongside with the experimental consequences of the proposed interpretation at the LHC energies are considered.Comment: 4 pages, 1 figure, talk given by S. Studying the Sivers function by model calculations

    Get PDF
A formalism is presented to evaluate the Sivers function in constituent quark models. A non-relativistic reduction of the scheme is performed and applied to the Isgur-Karl model. The sign for the uu and dd flavor contributions that we obtained turns out to be opposite. The Burkardt Sum Rule is fulfilled to a large extent. After the estimate of the QCD evolution of the results from the momentum scale of the model to the experimental one, a reasonable agreement with the available data is obtained.Comment: To appear in the proceedings of Diffraction 2008: International Workshop On Diffraction In High Energy Physics, 9-14 Sep 2008, La Londe-les-Maures, France.
