Implementation of resource recovery practices among Malaysian construction stakeholders
Most of the construction stakeholders around the world especially in developing countries are not really aware of the
Resource Recovery approaches in contemporary construction projects. Previous studies reported that Resource
Recovery issues received less attention from the construction industry stakeholders compared to construction costs
and time related issues. However, this trend has changed due to the depletion of non-renewable resources,
greenhouse gas emissions and global warming with much effort now being directed to ‘build greener’ construction
projects through proper application of the Resource Recovery approach. This study examined current application of
Resource Recovery approach among Malaysia’s construction stakeholders. Primary data were gathered from 122
questionnaires returned by Malaysian construction stakeholders that included consultants, contractors and clients .
The analysis revealed that the adoption of Resource Recovery was only mildly practiced by the Malaysian
construction stakeholders

characteristics, technology performances and communication networks. This paper begins with
an introduction and literature review, followed by the hypotheses statements. Pearson
Correlation analysis was applied to examine these hypotheses. A sample of 76 Malaysian food
and beverage firms was used for investigation, with one respondent for each firm. The results of
the analysis indicated that technology characteristics, technology performances and
communication networks are significantly influence the adoption of clean production strategies
The energy effectiveness and efficiency of green building in Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM)
Green building is a building which has an eco friendly environment and improves the safety
and health of the people. It is also a building operating on green efficiency approaches which
could have lower operations and maintenance costs. The development of green building in Malaysia is suitable because there are technologies which have been developed and they are compatible with the extreme weathers in Malaysia.Since there are previous studies done related to the energy efficiency and effectiveness of green building, this research aims to highlight the factors that make a building to be claimed as a green building and its effectiveness towards the users of the building as well as identifying the main factors which contributing the development of green building and how can green building helps in
protecting the environment and the health of the people in the building. This study focuses on
green buildings in Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM). The data was collected by a qualitative
method by conducting an interview with senior assistant architect at Jabatan Pembangunan &
Penyelenggaraan (JPP) UUM and field observation. The findings have shown that the development of green building in UUM starts with the implementation of the National Green Technology Policy (NGTP) in 2009 and Vice Chancellor inspiration to answer the government call towards implementing green practices. The reason why the building is effective and efficient are because of the conservation of energy cost effective and the design of the building. Green building can affect the productivity, performance and health of the
occupants. Since this is a preliminary study, more researches need to be done to generalise the findings about other green buildings existed in Malaysia especially for any institutional or
commercial buildings

Keberkesanan kaedah pengurusan fasiliti dan penyumber luaran terhadap prestasi bangunan
Intense competition, higher wages, economic factors and the lack of internal labor, force organizations to look for alternatives to reduce costs and at the
same time still maintaining existing performance. Similarly, the facility management of a building, especially involving government-owned buildings face
the same phenomena. One popular method being used to overcome these phenomena is via outsourcing. Many organizations nowadays prefer to adopt outsourcing rather than internal contract practice. This resulted from the changes in the business environment that is focused towards effective operations

Measuring the impact of inventory control practices: A conceptual framework
Inventory control provides method to manage the flow of materials or goods in the supply chain. Since controlling inventory is not the only mechanism to ensure an adequate inventory levels, it is also able to reduce inventory related cost. The manufacturing sector holds large inventories with quite complicated process and policy
related to inventory control, especially when involving external party whether they are supplier or customer The manufacturing companies always confront with issues related to inventory management, which includes bullwhip effect on demand, increase of inventory cost, late delivery, and inventory shortage. Therefore, a key challenge for manufacturing company is to determine how to control the inventory flows effectively as to get the best overall inventory performance. Since inventory control manages to cover a wide range of aspects, it is chosen to focus on specific element such as inventory monitoring and ordering; control limits; and replenishment decisions.Lacking of
an inventory control practices that normally occurred among manufacturing companies had lead this paper to propose a framework on inventory control practices to acquire that knowledge
