    A General qq-Oscillator Algebra

It is well-known that the Macfarlane-Biedenharn qq-oscillator and its generalization has no Hopf structure, whereas the Hong Yan qq-oscillator can be endowed with a Hopf structure. In this letter, we demonstrate that it is possible to construct a general qq-oscillator algebra which includes the Macfarlane-Biedenharn oscillator algebra and the Hong Yan oscillator algebra as special cases.Comment: Needs subeqnarray.sty and epsf.sty (contains 2 figures

    q-Deformation of the Krichever-Novikov Algebra

The recent focus on deformations of algebras called quantum algebras can be attributed to the fact that they appear to be the basic algebraic structures underlying an amazingly diverse set of physical situations. To date many interesting features of these algebras have been found and they are now known to belong to a class of algebras called Hopf algebras [1]. The remarkable aspect of these structures is that they can be regarded as deformations of the usual Lie algebras. Of late, there has been a considerable interest in the deformation of the Virasoro algebra and the underlying Heisenberg algebra [2-11]. In this letter we focus our attention on deforming generalizations of these algebras, namely the Krichever-Novikov (KN) algebra and its associated Heisenberg algebra.Comment: AmsTex. Determination of the CP Phase γ\gamma with Possibility of New Physics

We propose a new method to extract the CP violating weak phase γ\gamma in the CKM paradigm of the Standard Model, using BD0πfπB^- \to D^0 \pi^- \to f \pi^- and BDˉ0πfπB^- \to \bar D^0 \pi^- \to f \pi^- decays, where ff are final states such as K+πK^+ \pi^-, K+ρK^+ \rho^-, KππK \pi\pi, {\it etc.} We also study the experimental feasibility of our new method. With possibility of new phases in the CKM matrix, we re-examine some of the previously proposed methods to determine γ\gamma, and find that it would be in principle possible to identify γ\gamma and a new phase angle θ\theta separately.Comment: 4 pages, LaTeX; Using two-column style file (ltwol.sty); To be published in the Proceedings of the Fourth International Workshop on B Physics and CP Violation, Ise-Shima, Japan, February 18 - 23, 200

Cooperative Game Theory within Multi-Agent Systems for Systems Scheduling

    Get PDF
Research concerning organization and coordination within multi-agent systems continues to draw from a variety of architectures and methodologies. The work presented in this paper combines techniques from game theory and multi-agent systems to produce self-organizing, polymorphic, lightweight, embedded agents for systems scheduling within a large-scale real-time systems environment. Results show how this approach is used to experimentally produce optimum real-time scheduling through the emergent behavior of thousands of agents. These results are obtained using a SWARM simulation of systems scheduling within a High Energy Physics experiment consisting of 2500 digital signal processors.Comment: Fourth International Conference on Hybrid Intelligent Systems (HIS), Kitakyushu, Japan, December, 200
