    The paper describes the shape finding analysis of membrane structures considering the bending stiffness of boundary frames. The aim of this paper is to release the freedom of deciding the shape of membrane surface more in designing membrane structures. As a concrete example, I study the structure of umbrella possessing a flexible frame like the same time. This example will enable to solve the shape finding analysis of the membrane structure which have boundaries of stressed beam and curved beam with initial bending

    This paper is descibed about applications of configuration mechanics for tensegrity system included in tensile structures. and mainly mension about form finding method of tensegrity system in computing. There are many types of tensegrity system. in which, we focused on cable dome, proposed by Dr. David Geiger. Tension Domes are used tension ring and compresion ring. In gneral, tensile structures are regarded as instable structures unless existance of initial stress in the structures before acting external loads. Terefor initial stresses are significant structure member for stabilizing the suructures. Also, This paper propose new light weight compressive structures, composed of foam materials such as foamed light weight concrete and foam plastics and so on.     五重塔の構造のモデル化に関する研究 : スネークダンスをする構造モデルについて

    The five-story pagodas in Japan date back 1400 years or more. Despite the occurrence of many earthquakes during this period, there is no record of these pagodas being destroyed by earthquakes. Therefore, it is believed that these pagodas are earthquake resistant. However, the reason underlying this resistance has not been clarified yet. Of the various theories, that have been put forth, the most plausible explanation is that one offered by the snake-dance theory. According to this theory, the rocking movements of these pagodas during earthquakes, which resemble a snake dance, protects them from destruction. The pagodas are subjected to few horizontal vibrations during earthquakes. However, a structural model that can recreate these rocking vibrations has yet been created. While we attempted to create such a structural model on a laboratory scale, the aim of our study is that one of describing the structural process during the earthquake shaking, and explaining the results we obtain by writing reports

    The paper describes the theories about initial shape and stress-deformation analysis we confront on designing of membrane structures. The details of the existing structures based on the theories are shown. To introduce the concept of 0 order elasticity shows that the inital shape analysis itself is contained the category of mechanics of continuos media. Furthermore, both initial shape and stress-deformation analysis are not individual themselves, but can be carried through in unity in the integurated analysis system of stress-deformation analysis contained initial steress
