Witnesses recalled hearing a roaring sound, a window broke and the power went out. Noted as a sudden storm. (5 mins) Indications of a tornado were seen as a steel framed windmill was twisted. Lucknow, (36km to the SE) had just received possible tornado damage by the same storm just minutes before
Tweed
Multiple witnesses to the storm, with some claiming to have seen funnel cloud (newspaper) although claims were denied years later. Damage indicated winds likely in excess of 100mph were possible. (source?) One person described the damage in the village as “it looked like a bomb went off”. “incredible noise” “it sounded like a locomotive coming down on the house” Possibly a rain-wrapped tornado
Loretto
No funnel mentioned, but a narrow path of damage indicated “spiral storm”, therefore probable. Uncommon NNW-SSE track
Mattawa
OPP reported funnel cloud spotted northwest of Mattawa and moving SE at a high rate of speed. Witnesses heard train-like noise amd large hail falling. Damage reports came from both Redbridge, (40km west of Mattawa), and along HWY 533 which was then closed. Some very large trees were uprooted along the tornado track, some 4ft in diameter. Possibly a long-track tornado as it inflicted damage over a linear path of approximately 40km
Dublin
Only info from news clipping with damage noted. Barn blown down = F2 rating. May need upgrade
Castleford
Twister accompanied by golf ball-sized hailstones. The timing seems backwards compared to Deep River and Perth County storms but they may have been separate cells. There is a possible need for an upgrade as a roof was thrown
Scarborough
No actual confirmable evidence of tornado touchdown unless visible in B&W photo scan errors in EC file
