Calcium-permeable channels activated via guanine nucleotide-dependent mechanism in human carcinoma cells
AbstractPatch clamp experiments on human carcinoma A431 cells have revealed two types of Ca2+-permeable channels, the activity of which can be increased by the application of non-hydrolyzable analogues of GTP to the intracellular side of the membrane. With 105 mM Ca2+ in recording pipette at 30–33°C their unitary conductances (in pS) are 1.3 (SG-channels) and 2.4 (G-channels). G- and, possibly, SG-channels are activated from the extracellular side of the membrane with epidermal growth factor (EGF). The data are consistent with the hypothesis that both channels are activated via guanine nucleotide binding (G) proteins

Berry Phase in Neutrino Oscillations
We study the Berry phase in neutrino oscillations for both Dirac and Majorana
neutrinos. In order to have a Berry phase, the neutrino oscillations must occur
in a varying medium, the neutrino-background interactions must depend on at
least two independent densities, and also there must be CP violation if the
neutrino interactions with matter are mediated only by the standard model W and
Z boson exchanges which implies that there must be at least three generations
of neutrinos. The CP violating Majorana phases do not play a role in generating
a Berry phase. We show that a natural way to satisfy the conditions for the
generation of a Berry phase is to have sterile neutrinos with active-sterile
neutrino mixing, in which case at least two active and one sterile neutrinos
are required. If there are additional new CP violating flavor changing
interactions, it is also possible to have a non-zero Berry phase with just two

T-violation tests for relativity principles
We consider the implications of a violation of the equivalence principle or
of Lorentz invariance in the neutrino sector for the T-asymmetry in a
three-flavour framework. We find that additional mixing due to these
mechanisms, while obeying all present bounds, can lead to a substantial
enhancement, suppression, and/or sign change in for the preferred
energies and baselines of a neutrino factory. This in turn allows for the

On the Strategy for the Development of the Information Society of the Russian Federation for 2017-2030
The article defines the concept of the information society, considers the strategy of the development of the information society in the Russian Federation. In the main part, the state of the development of the information society in the Russian Federation was studied using international indices: the ICT development index, the network readiness index (NRI), the e-government development index (EGDI), the knowledge economy index. A cluster analysis of the state of the information society as a whole was also conducted. The conclusions give recommendations on the improvement of the system of indicators, the mechanism of working with it, and documents clarifying the Strategy for the Development of the Information Society in the Russian Federation for 2017-2030. This will allow increasing the values of individual ratings, as well as the common place of Russia in a single information space
Three-particle States in Nonrelativistic Four-fermion Model
On a nonrelativistic contact four-fermion model we have shown that the simple
Lambda-cut-off prescription together with definite fine-tuning of the Lambda
dependency of "bare"quantities lead to self-adjoint semi-bounded Hamiltonian in
one-, two- and three-particle sectors. The fixed self-adjoint extension and
exact solutions in two-particle sector completely define three-particle
problem. The renormalized Faddeev equations for the bound states with Fredholm

Thermochemiluminescent peroxide crystals
Chemiluminescence, a process of transduction of energy stored within chemical bonds of ground-state reactants into light via high-energy excited intermediates, is known in solution, but has remained undetected in macroscopic crystalline solids. By detecting thermally induced chemiluminescence from centimeter-size crystals of an organic peroxide here we demonstrate direct transduction of heat into light by thermochemiluminescence of bulk crystals. Heating of crystals of lophine hydroperoxide to ~115 °C results in detectable emission of blue-green light with maximum at 530 nm with low chemiluminescent quantum yield [(2.1 ± 0.1) × 10 ‒7 E mol ‒1 ]. Spectral comparison of the thermochemiluminescence in the solid state and in solution revealed that the solid-state thermochemiluminescence of lophine peroxide is due to emission from deprotonated lophine. With selected 1,2-dioxetane, endoperoxide and aroyl peroxide we also establish that the thermochemiluminescence is common for crystalline peroxides, with the color of the emitted light varying from blue to green to red
Fluxes of atmospheric muons underwater depending on the small-x gluon density
The prompt muon contribution to the deep-sea atmospheric muon flux can serve
as a tool for probing into the small-x feature of the gluon density inside of a
nucleon, if the muon energy threshold could be lifted to 100 TeV. The prompt
muon flux underwater is calculated taking into consideration predictions of
recent charm production models in which the small-x behaviour of the gluon
distribution is probed. We discuss the possibility of distinguishing the PQCD
models of the charm production differing in the small-x exponent of the gluon
distribution, in measurements of the muon flux at energies 10-100 TeV with
