Computer catalog of visual arts : argentinean painting of XIX and XX centuries

El propósito de este proyecto es contribuir a la difusión y preservación de la producción artística argentina, mediante el aprovechamiento de las tecnologías informáticas y de comunicación. Sus objetivos específicos son generar una base de datos de obras artísticas, e implementar un sitio web a partir de ésta.La metodología a abordar se organiza en dos grandes etapas: 1.Generación de la base de datos: - Trabajos preliminares: búsqueda, recolección, selección y tratamiento de imágenes de producción artística, a través de distintos medios: Internet, bibliografía impresa, diapositivas, muestras artísticas. Las imágenes obtenidas se tratan mediante equipos (computadora con conexión a Internet, scanner, cámara digital), y softwares gráficos.- Diseño de Base de datos: utilizando Access 2003. Se diseñan tablas, consultas y formularios. Se establecen opciones de búsqueda por año, autor, técnica y colección. 2. Producción de sitio web: comprende la interfaz gráfica y la estructura del sitio. El trabajo en este primer año de investigación tiene previsto finalizar la base de datos.The purpose of this project is to contribute to the diffusion and preservation of the artistic Argentinean production, by means of the use of the computer technologies and of communication. Their specific objectives are to generate a database of artistic works, and to create a website about this.The methodology is organized in two big stages: Generation of database: - Preliminary works: search, gathering, selection and treatment of images of artistic production, through different means: Internet, printed bibliography, slides, artistic samples. The images are obtained by different means (computer with Internet connection, scanner, digital camera), and graphic softwares. - Design of Database: using Access 2003. Charts, consultations and forms are designed. Search options are set by year, author, technique and collection.Website’s production: it covers the graphic interface and website structure. The work in this first year of investigation has foreseen to conclude the database

Recorrido virtual del cosmos precolombino al mundo contemporáneo : imágenes a través del espacio y tiempo

El informe presentado corresponde a una investigación realizada durante los años 2004-2005, en la cátedra de Historia del Arte Americano y Argentino, de la carrera de Artes Visuales. Partiendo de la hipótesis inicial de la dificultad de los estudiantes de disponer de imágenes para el estudio de la producción artística de las culturas estudiadas durante el desarrollo de la materia, se realizó la exploración de imágenes por Internet. A partir de la profusa y dispar cantidad y calidad de sitios web hallados, se estimó de interés realizar el análisis de los sitios web como recurso bibliográfico, dado que Internet es el medio más accesible, libre y económico para acceder a la información. Surge entonces, la necesidad de establecer criterios de análisis. Para ello se establecen parámetros de evaluación en la exploración de sitios y se hace una breve reseña de éstos, con la finalidad de orientar al estudiante en lo que puede obtener de cada uno, pero también, brindarle herramientas de juicio para el análisis de sitios diferentes a los propuestos. El producto es un CD con imágenes y videos. En la conclusión se realiza una evaluación general y las posibles líneas de continuidad.The presented report corresponds to an investigation carried out during the years 2004-2005, in the class of History of the American and Argentinean Art, of the career of Visual Arts. Starting of the initial hypothesis of the students’ difficulty of having images for the artistic production’s study of the cultures studied during the development of the subject, we have looked for images in internet. Starting from the profuse and disparate quantity and quality of websites found, it was considered of interest to do the analysis of the websites like bibliographical resource, since Internet is the most accessible, free and economic means to consent to information. It arises then, the necessity to establish analysis criterion. For that, we have set evaluation parameters in the exploration of websites and a brief review is made of these, with the purpose of guiding the student in what can obtain of each one, but also, to offer him judgments tools for the analysis of websites different to those proposed. The product is a CD with images and videos. In the conclusion it’s carried out a general evaluation and the possible lines of continuity
