Transforming archaeology through practice: strategies for collaborative archaeology and the Community Archaeology Project at Quseir, Egypt

'Community archaeology' is a relatively new sub-field of research in archaeology that aims to involve local people in the investigation and interpretation of the past. Based on the creation of a community archaeology research project in Quseir, Egypt, a general methodology for facilitating effective community involvement in the study of the archaeological resource is proposed.
