A theory of thin shells with orbiting constituents
The self-gravitating, spherically symmetric thin shells built of orbiting
particles are sstudied. Two new features are found. One is the minimal possible
value for an angular momentum of particles, above which elleptic orbits become
possible. The second is the coexistence of both the wormhole solutions and the
elleptic or hyperbolic orbits for the same values of the parameters (but
different initial conditions). Possible applications of these results to
astrophysics and quantum black holes are briefly discussed.Comment: 22 pages, Latex, 10 eps figures. CERN preprint no. CERN-TH 2000-16
The differential-algebraic and bi-Hamiltonian integrability analysis of the Riemann type hierarchy revisited
A differential-algebraic approach to studying the Lax type integrability of
the generalized Riemann type hydrodynamic hierarchy is revisited, its new Lax
type representation and Poisson structures constructed in exact form. The
related bi-Hamiltonian integrability and compatible Poissonian structures of
the generalized Riemann type hierarchy are also discussed.Comment: 18 page
L^2 torsion without the determinant class condition and extended L^2 cohomology
We associate determinant lines to objects of the extended abelian category
built out of a von Neumann category with a trace. Using this we suggest
constructions of the combinatorial and the analytic L^2 torsions which, unlike
the work of the previous authors, requires no additional assumptions; in
particular we do not impose the determinant class condition. The resulting
torsions are elements of the determinant line of the extended L^2 cohomology.
Under the determinant class assumption the L^2 torsions of this paper
specialize to the invariants studied in our previous work. Applying a recent
theorem of D. Burghelea, L. Friedlander and T. Kappeler we obtain a Cheeger -
Muller type theorem stating the equality between the combinatorial and the
analytic L^2 torsions.Comment: 39 page
Differential-Algebraic Integrability Analysis of the Generalized Riemann Type and Korteweg-de Vries Hydrodynamical Equations
A differential-algebraic approach to studying the Lax type integrability of
the generalized Riemann type hydrodynamic equations at N = 3; 4 is devised. The
approach is also applied to studying the Lax type integrability of the well
known Korteweg-de Vries dynamical system.Comment: 11 page
Hadronic EDMs, the Weinberg Operator, and Light Gluinos
We re-examine questions concerning the contribution of the three-gluon
Weinberg operator to the electric dipole moment of the neutron, and provide
several QCD sum rule-based arguments that the result is smaller than - but
nevertheless consistent with - estimates which invoke naive dimensional
analysis. We also point out a regime of the MSSM parameter space with light
gluinos for which this operator provides the dominant contribution to the
neutron electric dipole moment due to enhancement via the dimension five color
electric dipole moment of the gluino.Comment: 6 pages, RevTeX, 3 figures; v2: references added; v3: typos

Peculiarities of Legal Regulation of Shareholders Agreements (SHA) under Russian and Common Law
The article is devoted to one of the urgent problems of corporate law, namely to legal regulation of shareholders agreements under Russian and common law. This issue gains currency in the light of comparative law in connection with the necessity of protection of minority shareholders’ rights in Russian companies. The necessity of legal fi xation of the shareholders agreements (SHA) institute, in its turn, is conditioned by a number of reasons, namely: increase in number of transactions on merges and acquisitions (M&A), problems connected with the protection of the companies from illegal takeovers number of which has extremely increased in recent years and, certainly, by aspiration to attract foreign investments in the Russian economy by entry into transactions with foreign investors including creation of joint ventures (JV). Thus, the available negative tendency of avoiding Russian legislation and jurisdiction directly contravenes creation of the international fi nancial center in Moscow. For development of fi nancial sector it is necessary to increase attractiveness of Russian legislation and jurisdiction including expansion of SHA functionality (to the extent that it doesn’t entail violation of third parties interests). The article will be useful for students, professors of law and also for practicing lawyers
Heteroleptic Zn(II)–Pentaiodobenzoate Complexes: Structures and Features of Halogen–Halogen Non-Covalent Interactions in Solid State
Reactions between Zn(II) nitrate, pentaiodobenzoic acid (HPIBA) and different pyridines in dimethylformamide (DMF) result in the formation of the heteroleptic neutral complexes [Zn(3,5-MePy)2PIBA2] (1) and [Zn(DMF)3(NO3)PIBA] (2). Both compounds were isolated in pure form, as shown by the PXRD data. The features of specific non-covalent interactions involving halogen atoms (halogen bonding) were examined by means of DFT calculations (QTAIM analysis and the estimation of corresponding energies)
