Entanglement of three-qubit pure states in terms of teleportation capability
We define an entanglement measure, called the partial tangle, which
represents the residual two-qubit entanglement of a three-qubit pure state. By
its explicit calculations for three-qubit pure states, we show that the partial
tangle is closely related to the faithfulness of a teleportation scheme over a
three-qubit pure state.Comment: 4 pages, 1 figure, accepted for publication as a Brief Report in

Teleportation capability, distillability, and nonlocality on three-qubit states
In this paper, we consider teleportation capability, distillability, and
nonlocality on three-qubit states. In order to investigate some relations among
them, we first find the explicit formulas of the quantities about the maximal
teleportation fidelity on three-qubit states. We show that if any three-qubit
state is useful for three-qubit teleportation then the three-qubit state is
distillable into a Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger state, and that if any
three-qubit state violates a specific form of Mermin inequality then the
three-qubit state is useful for three-qubit teleportation.Comment: 5 pages, 2 figures; The old version has been generalized into the
results on general 3-qubit state

Effective Exchange Rate Classifications and Growth
We propose an econometric procedure for obtaining de facto exchange rate regime classifications which we apply to study the relationship between exchange rate regimes and economic growth. Our classification method models the de jure regimes as outcomes of a multinomial logit choice problem conditional on the volatility of a country's effective exchange rate, a bilateral exchange rate and international reserves. An `effective' de facto exchange rate regime classification is then obtained by assigning country-year observations to the regime with the highest predictive probability obtained from the estimation problem. An econometric investigation into the relationship between exchange rate regimes and GDP growth finds that growth is higher under stable currency-value regimes. Significant asymmetric effects on country growth from not doing what is said are found for nonindustrialized countries. Countries that exhibit `fear of floating' experience significantly higher growth.
Towards an Interaction-based Integration of MKM Services into End-User Applications
The Semantic Alliance (SAlly) Framework, first presented at MKM 2012, allows
integration of Mathematical Knowledge Management services into typical
applications and end-user workflows. From an architecture allowing invasion of
spreadsheet programs, it grew into a middle-ware connecting spreadsheet, CAD,
text and image processing environments with MKM services. The architecture
presented in the original paper proved to be quite resilient as it is still
used today with only minor changes.
This paper explores extensibility challenges we have encountered in the
process of developing new services and maintaining the plugins invading
end-user applications. After an analysis of the underlying problems, I present
an augmented version of the SAlly architecture that addresses these issues and
opens new opportunities for document type agnostic MKM services.Comment: 14 pages, 7 figure
Lattice paramenter, lattice disorder and resistivity of carbohydrate doepd MgB2 and their correlation with the transition temperature
The change in the lattice parameters or the lattice disorder is claimed as a
cause of the slight reduction in the transition temperature by carbon doping in
MgB2. In this work, an extensive investigation on the effects of carbohydrate
doping has been carried out. It is found that not only the a-axis but also the
c-axis lattice parameter increases with the sintering temperature. A linear
relation between the unit cell volume and the critical temperature is observed.
Compared with the well known correlation between the lattice strain and the
critical temperature, the X-ray peak broadening itself shows a closer
correlation with the transition temperature. The residual resistivity and the
critical temperature are linearly correlated with each other as well and its
implication is further discussed.Comment: 3 pages. Accepted by Jouranl of nanoscience and Nanotechnology (JNN
Generation linewidth of an auto-oscillator with a nonlinear frequency shift: Spin-torque nano-oscillator
It is shown that the generation linewidth of an auto-oscillator with a
nonlinear frequency shift (i.e. an auto-oscillator in which frequency depends
on the oscillation amplitude) is substantially larger than the linewidth of a
conventional quasi-linear auto-oscillator due to the renormalization of the
phase noise caused by the nonlinearity of the oscillation frequency. The
developed theory, when applied to a spin-torque nano-contact auto-oscillator,
predicts a minimum of the generation linewidth when the nano-contact is
magnetized at a critical angle to its plane, corresponding to the minimum
nonlinear frequency shift, in good agreement with recent experiments.Comment: 4 pages, 2 figure
