    Metodologia cooperativa no ensino de Química: percepções de estudantes do ensino médio

    A presente pesquisa, de abordagem qualitativa participante, teve como objetivo analisar as percepções de estudantes do 3ª ano do Ensino Médio de um colégio estadual de Almirante Tamandaré/PR sobre a Metodologia Cooperativa, a qual fundamentou uma Sequência Didática envolvendo conteúdos de Química Orgânica. Os dados foram constituídos por meio de Grupo Focal e analisados a partir da Análise de Conteúdo. Das falas dos participantes da pesquisa emergiram quatro categorias que revelam suas percepções sobre: i) trabalho em grupo; ii) metodologia cooperativa desenvolvida; iii) aprendizagem dos conceitos químicos; e iv) método tradicional. As percepções apontaram que a metodologia ativa, pautada na Metodologia Cooperativa, se configurou como uma estratégia com potencialidade para promoção da aprendizagem de conceitos químicos, com destaque para o papel da interação social em sala de aula ao longo do processo educativo.Cooperative methodology in Chemistry teaching: perceptions of High School StudentsAbstractThe present research, with a participative qualitative approach, aimed to analyze the perceptions of 3rd year high school students from a state school in Almirante Tamandaré / PR on Cooperative Methodology, which supported a Didactic Sequence involving Organic Chemistry content. The data were constituted through a Focus Group and analyzed based on Content Analysis. From the results, four categories emerged from the research participants' perceptions about: i) group work; ii) developed cooperative methodology; iii) learning of chemical concepts; and iv) traditional method. The perceptions pointed out that the active methodology, based on the Cooperative Methodology, was configured as an advantageous strategy, in the sense that it promoted the learning of chemical concepts and also caused the ability to overcome individual challenges, in addition to promoting confidence and creativity to work in groups.Keywords: Active Methodology.     This work is an experience report of academic teaching assistance activities carried out in the discipline of Animal Physiology II of the Veterinary Medicine course of Universidade Federal de Goiás (UFG), now Universidade Federal de Jataí (UFJ). The monitoring activities in Animal Physiology II were carried out in the first semester of 2016. The discipline had a workload of 96 hours, distributed in 8 weekly hours, whose weekly classes are 6 theoretical hours and 2 practical hours. During this semester, a new form of assisting students was implemented in order to assess the performance of students as well as the monitors involved in the discipline, allowing a more concrete learning and higher performance and dedication of teaching assistants throughout the monitoring assistances given to students in Animal Physiology II

    Análise da formação específica e pedagógica de um curso de Licenciatura em Química, após reestruturação curricular, na perspectiva dos formandos.

    O presente trabalho aborda a perspectiva de licenciandos em Química de duas turmas de formandos de uma universidade pública estadual paulista, sobre a formação específica em Química e a formação pedagógica recebidas no Curso de Licenciatura. Os dados foram obtidos a partir de um questionário aplicado no último semestre letivo das turmas. Os pontos positivos da formação específica destacados foram o aprimoramento intelectual e pessoal; as diversas opções de atuação no mercado de trabalho; a qualificação do corpo docente, dentre outros. Já em relação aos aspectos negativos, as respostas destacaram a Estrutura Curricular; a atuação dos professores; e as aulas de laboratório. Os aspectos positivos da formação pedagógica englobaram a formação teórica na área pedagógica; a prática na formação docente; dentre outros. Os pontos negativos da formação pedagógica envolveram os estágios supervisionados e disciplinas pedagógicas; a falta de informação; a Estrutura Curricular; e o corpo docente

    Após completar cem anos de Educação Profissional, em 2009, as escolas da rede federal brasileira passaram por reformulações na sua estrutura: de Escola de Aprendizes e Artífices até os atuais Institutos Federais de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia. Dentro dessas transformações, nasceu a Unidade de Ensino Descentralizada (UNED) de Vitória da Conquista - Ba, na década de 1990. Esta pesquisa objetivou estudar o movimento de implantação dessa instituição escolar observando o seu contexto sócio-histórico e econômico e as múltiplas relações que ali ocorreram. Analisamos o processo de expansão da Escola Técnica Federal da Bahia, destacando os antecedentes, a implantação propriamente dita e os primeiros anos de funcionamento da Unidade Descentralizada de Ensino de Vitória da Conquista, por meio das memórias construídas pelo seu grupo de fundadores. Os resultados indicaram que ao longo do processo de instituição da escola, foram constituídas memórias pessoais e coletivas em conformidade com os lugares que os sujeitos ocupam, configurando assim, a história e memória social da UNED de Vitória da Conquista, o que evidencia a relação dialógica existente entre elas

    Relationship between emotion and health: a two-way street

    Emotional reactions impact on people's health and quality of life. With the advent of neuroscience in the 1990s, much research has focused on the relationship between neural circuits and emotional reactions. In this sense, we have identified a 2031% growth in research linking emotions and health between 1990 and 2022. Using the Text mining tool called "Biotext Tools", we performed a literature search, focusing on diseases of old age and covid-19. Emotion molecules (EMs), produced by the endocrine system, impact the homeostasis of the body, affecting the biological balance of the body. We related the EMs with diseases of the elderly and Covid-19, in order to analyze the impact of emotional states on the development and treatment of these pathologies. To this end, the bidirectional relationship between anxiety, depression, heart disease, stroke, and Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases was analyzed. Finally, Coronavirus severity and mortality levels were related to cortisol, testosterone, and serotonin levels

    Association of CYP1A1 A4889G and T6235C polymorphisms with the risk of sporadic breast cancer in Brazilian women

    OBJECTIVES:We examined the influence of CYP1A1 A4889G and T6235C polymorphisms on the risk of sporadic breast cancer.METHODS:DNA from 742 sporadic breast cancer patients and 742 controls was analyzed using the polymerase chain reaction, followed by the restriction fragment length polymorphism technique.RESULTS:More patients had the CYP1A1 4889AG+GG genotype compared to controls (29.0% versus 23.2%, p=0.004). The G allele carriers had a 1.50-fold increased risk (95% CI: 1.14-1.97) of sporadic breast cancer compared to the other study participants. The frequency of the 4889AG+GG genotype among the Caucasian patients was higher than in the non-Caucasian patients (30.4% versus 20.2%, p=0.03) and controls (30.4% versus 23.2%, p=0.002). Caucasians and G allele carriers had a 1.61-fold increased risk (95% CI: 1.20-2.15) of sporadic breast cancer compared to other subjects. The CYP1A1 4889AG+GG genotype was more common among patients with a younger median age at first full-term pregnancy than among controls (33.8% versus 23.2%, p=0.001) and subjects whose first full-term pregnancies occurred at an older age (33.8% versus 26.1%, p=0.03). Women with the CYP1A1 4889AG+GG genotype and earlier first full-term pregnancies had a 1.87-fold (95% CI: 1.32-2.67) increased risk of sporadic breast cancer compared to the other study participants. Excess CYP1A1 4889AG+GG (39.8% versus27.1%, p=0.01) and 6235TC+CC (48.4% versus 35.9%, p=0.02) genotypes were also observed in patients with grade I and II tumors compared to patients with grade III tumors and controls (39.8% versus 23.2%, p=0.04; 48.4% versus 38.6%, p=0.04). The G and C allele carriers had a 2.44-fold (95% CI: 1.48-4.02) and 1.67-fold (95% CI: 1.03-2.69) increased risk, respectively, of developing grade I and II tumors compared to other subjects.CONCLUSIONS:The CYP1A1 A4889G and T6235C polymorphisms may alter the risk of sporadic breast cancer in Brazilian women

    Análise epidemiológica da meningite no estado de Goiás

    Objective:To describe the incidence, prevalence and epidemiological profile of meningitis cases in the Stateof Goiás, Brazil, from 2014 to 2018. Methods: A descriptive observational study with a temporal trend design. Data were collected from the DATASUS Notification of Injury Information System. Results:There were a total of 1,427 cases of meningitis reported in Goiás between 2014 and 2018, of which 393 (27.54%) corresponded to the age of 20-39 years, representing the highest relative percentage for the ages scored .There wasalso a prevalence of meningitis cases in males (844), while females (583). When the analysis refers to the IBGE micro-region, there were 686 reported cases in Goiânia, representing the highest values, while the lowest values ​​are found in Iporá and Vão do Paranã (9 reported cases). Ofallthe cases presented, 164 diedwithmeningitis. Conclusion:Althoughthereis a vaccineagainst some typesofmeningitis, the rates of the disease in the State are still worrying, since it is a disease with high lethal power.Objetivo: Descrever a incidência, prevalência e o perfil epidemiológico dos casos de meningite no Estado de Goiás, Brasil, no período de 2014 a 2018. Métodos: Estudo observacional descritivo com delineamento de tendência temporal. Os dados foram coletados do Sistema de Informação de Agravos de Notificação- DATASUS. Resultados: Verificou-se um total de 1.427 casos notificados de meningite em Goiás, no período de 2014 a 2018, dos quais 393 (27,54%) correspondem à idade de 20-39 anos, representando a maior porcentagem relativa para as idades pontuadas. Observou-se, ainda, uma prevalência de casos de meningite, no sexo masculino (844), enquanto que, femininos (583). Quando a análise se refere à microrregião do IBGE, tem-se 686 casos notificados em Goiânia, representando os maiores valores, enquanto que os menores valores são encontrados em Iporá e Vão do Paranã (9 casos notificados). De todos os casos apresentados, 164 cursaram com óbito por meningite. Conclusão: Embora haja vacina contra alguns tipos de meningite, ainda é preocupante os índices da doença no Estado, uma vez que se trata de uma doença com elevado poder letal
