    The paper presents the results of a most recent study for the German Federal Environmental Agency (UBA) that investigates the prospects and limits of hydrogen pathways in transport in comparison with other alternative fuel options (to be finalized late summer 2005). Emphasis is put on the energy systems interlinkages between hydrogen generation and use with other areas of energy production and consumption. The study builds on a comprehensive bottom-up energy modelling framework that has been used for the long-term energy scenarios of the Federal Ministry for the Environment and the Enquete Comission of the German Parliament

    Mit dem Ziel einen Debattenbeitrag zur Frage "Was wäre, wenn der Verkehr der Zukunft auf Erneuerbaren Energien basieren würde?", zu leisten, werden in der Studie "Erneuerbare Energien im Verkehr" technische Potenziale erneuerbarer Energieträger in Deutschland ermittelt und verschiedenen Szenarien zum Energieverbrauch des Verkehrssektors bis zum Jahr 2050 gegenübergestellt. Die Ergebnisse erlauben es, ein erstes umfassendes Bild vom erwarteten Energieverbrauch des Verkehrs und den Potenzialen geeigneter erneuerbarer Energieträger zu geben
