Two loop finiteness of Higgs mass and potential in the gauge-Higgs unification
The zero mode of an extra-dimensional component of gauge potentials serves as
a 4D Higgs field in the gauge-Higgs unification. We examine QED on and determine the mass and potential of a 4D Higgs field (the
component) at the two loop level with gauge invariant reguralization. It is
seen that the mass is free from divergences and independent of the

Flavor Mixing in the Gauge-Higgs Unification
Gauge-Higgs unification is the fascinating scenario solving the hierarchy
problem without supersymmetry. In this scenario, the Standard Model (SM) Higgs
doublet is identified with extra component of the gauge field in higher
dimensions and its mass becomes finite and stable under quantum corrections due
to the higher dimensional gauge symmetry. On the other hand, Yukawa coupling is
provided by the gauge coupling, which seems to mean that the flavor mixing and
CP violation do not arise at it stands. In this talk, we discuss that the
flavor mixing is originated from simultaneously non-diagonalizable bulk and
brane mass matrices. Then, this mechanism is applied to various flavor changing
neutral current (FCNC) processes via Kaluza-Klein (KK) gauge boson exchange at

Radius Stabilization in a Supersymmetric Warped Compactification
A supersymmetric (SUSY) model of radius stabilization is constructed for the
S^1/Z_2 warped compactifications with a hypermultiplet in five dimensions.
Requiring the continuity of scalar field across the boundaries, we obtain
radius stabilization preserving SUSY, realizing the SUSY extension of the
Goldberger-Wise mechanism. Even if we allow discontinuities of the Z_2 odd
field across the boundary, we always obtain SUSY preservation but obtain the
radius stabilization only when the discontinuity is fixed by other mechanism.Comment: 6 pages, revtex, Errors of the products of distributions are

Effect of Priming and Seed Size on Germination and Emergence of Six Food-Type Soybean Varieties
Soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.), a good source of protein and oil, is used to produce nutritious isoflavone-rich soybean-based foods. The objectives of this study were (i) to determine the germination difference among soybean seeds in various seed sizes and (ii) to evaluate effects of seed pretreatment on germination and seedling emergence. Six varieties of different seed size class were used: (i) small size (MFS-561 and V08-4773), (ii) medium size (Glen and V03-47050), and (iii) large size (MFL-159 and V07-1897). Pregermination treatments include 0, 5, or 10 hours soaking and germinating/planting with or without nitrogen fertilizer. Large seed size varieties showed low germination rate and N addition caused the least reduction in germination in these seeds during the first 24 hours. While N had no effect on seed germination after 72 hours, growth in N treated seed was low. Seedling emergence was comparable across varieties in 2013 and water priming and N application had no effect. However, while varieties did not differ in final emergence for nonprimed seeds in 2014, water priming led to a high reduction in seedling emergence of large seed varieties in this study. Opposite effects of interleukin-4 and interleukin-10 on nitric oxide production in murine macrophages
Interleukin-4 (IL-4) and interleukin-10 (IL-10) were evaluated for their ability to inhibit the production of nitric oxide (NO) by interferon-γ (IFN-γ)- or lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-activated murine macrophages (RAW 264.7 and J774.2). Macrophages pre-treated with IL-4 and then stimulated with IFN-γ or LPS showed significant inhibition in their ability to produce NO as measured by nitrite production. Simultaneous treatment of IL-4 pre-incubated cells with IFN-γ and LPS together augmented nitrite accumulation. On the other hand, similar exposures of the macrophages to IL-10 followed by IFN-γ or LPS treatments resulted in significantly increased NO production. Thus IL-10 failed to suppress IFN-γ or LPS-induced NO production and showed opposite effects in these experiments to IL-4. We conclude that the two lymphokines have differing roles in the control of production of NO and might act to control the secretion of nitric oxide in vivo
D-term Dynamical Supersymmetry Breaking Generating Split N=2 Gaugino Masses of Mixed Majorana-Dirac Type
Under a few mild assumptions, N=1 supersymmetry in four dimensions is shown
to be spontaneously broken in a self-consistent Hartree-Fock approximation of
BCS/NJL type to one-loop off-shell, in the gauge theory specified by the gauge
kinetic function and the superpotential of adjoint chiral superfields, in
particular, that possesses N=2 extended supersymmetry spontaneously broken to
N=1 at tree level. The N=2 gauginos receive mixed Majorana-Dirac masses and are
split. We derive an explicit form of the gap equation, showing the existence of
