Effect of Surface Roughness Height on the Aerodynamics Performance of Axial Compressor Cascade Blades
The performance of fluid handling mechanical parts such as compressor blades are usually significantly affected by the surface roughness, because they often operate in condition of peak output that is close to this flow condition. The influence of surface height roughness of compressor blades has been investigated experimentally under the effect of cascade stagger angle. The experimental results done by using the direct measuring technique showed that the aerodynamic coefficients of compressor cascade blades influences by presences of surface roughness and stagger angle. The lift coefficient, pitching moment coefficient and cascade blade efficiency were reduced, while the drag coefficient is increased, with the increase of height roughness. The height of roughness does eliminate the operating condition of the cascade blades, which reduce the value of the stall angle
Challenges facing nurses toward providing care for patients at intensive care units during the pandemic of corona virus disease: A mixed method study
Background: Nurses constitute the majority of healthcare practitioners, have been fighting the COVID-19 outbreak on the front lines. Nurses could face several challenges during delivering care for patients at ICUs especially at the time of pandemic of COVID -19, including workload and shortage, psychological load, availability of resources, responsibilities, and role conflict. Aims of the study: The study aimed to answer the research main question which was “To what extent is there a challenge that facing nursing care at intensive care unit during the pandemic of corona virus?” Methodology: A descriptive study design was conducted on ICU nurses at Baquba teaching hospital for the period October 15th, 2021, to March 25th, 2022. A non-probability (Purposive) sample was selected of 35 nurses who work at Baquba teaching hospital. The data was collected using a previously prepared questionnaire and official agreement to use the study questionnaire was obtained from the original author. Descriptive statistics (frequencies, percentages, mean, and standard deviation) and inferential statistics (person correlation) were used in the data analysis
INVESTIGATING THE PHYSIOLOGICAL RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ISCHEMIC HEART DISEASE AND HYPOTHYROIDISM
Both hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism, which are thyroid conditions that are extremely prevalent throughout the world, predispose to CVD in general and CAD in particular. This is especially important for people who have hypothyroidism. Heart failure progression risk and the frequency of coronary events are both raised by overt and subclinical hypothyroidism. Thyroid hormone abnormalities are a common complication of heart disease, especially ischemic heart disease, and should be taken into consideration. In actuality, it is necessary to consider low thyroid hormone levels as a cardiovascular risk factor. Regarding ischemic heart disease, thyroid hormones impact left ventricular structure, function, and geometry in the late post-myocardial infarction stage. Cardio-protection is the new goal of therapies to reduce infarct size and stop the development of heart failure following an acute ischemic event in order to enhance cardiovascular outcomes. Through TR1 binding, TH replacement therapy administered soon after myocardial infarction (or even when delayed) may enhance cardiac function. In this review we will look at the relationship between hypothyroidism and ischemic heart disease
