The role of structural embeddedness in an IT outsourcing network
The design of governance to safeguard against a vendor's opportunistic behaviour is one of the critical issues in information technology outsourcing (ITO) since this behaviour causes cost escalation and service debasement. The roles of structural embeddedness underlying network governance have been gaining its importance as complementary or substitutable governance in ITO. Our research attempts to reveal how structural embeddedness can affect the decision-makings of clients and vendors and their resulting outcomes in an ITO network and how these effects are moderated by various ITO network structures according to outsourced IT services. An agent-based simulation and game-theoretic approach are adopted to build a simulation model to describe ITO networks with various structures and ITO transactions between clients and vendors. Finally, the future research directions are discussed
Charmonium-hadron interactions from QCD
The heavy quark system is an excellent probe to learn about the QCD dynamics
at finite density. First, we discuss the properties of the and
meson at finite nucleon density. We discuss why their properties should change
at finite density and then introduce an exact QCD relation among these hadron
properties and the energy momentum tensor of the medium. Second, we discuss
attempts to calculate charmonium-hadron total cross section using effective
hadronic models and perturbative QCD. We emphasize a recent calculation, where
the cross section is derived using QCD factorization theorem. We conclude by

Quantum SUSY Algebra of -lumps in the Massive Grassmannian Sigma Model
We compute the SUSY algebra of the massive Grassmannian sigma
model in 2+1 dimensions. We first rederive the action of the model by using the
Scherk-Schwarz dimensional reduction from theory in 3+1
dimensions. Then, we perform the canonical quantization by using the Dirac
method. We find that a particular choice of the operator ordering yields the
quantum SUSY algebra of the -lumps with cental extension.Comment: 7 pages, references adde
HeII Recombination Lines From the First Luminous Objects
The hardness of the ionizing continuum from the first sources of UV radiation
plays a crucial role in the reionization of the intergalactic medium (IGM).
While usual stellar populations have soft spectra, mini-quasars or metal-free
stars with high effective temperatures may emit hard photons, capable of doubly
ionizing helium and increasing the IGM temperature. Absorption within the
source and in the intervening IGM will render the ionizing continuum of
high-redshift sources inaccessible to direct observation. Here we show that
HeII recombination lines from the first luminous objects are potentially
detectable by the Next Generation Space Telescope. Together with measurements
of the hydrogen Balmer alpha emission line, this detection can be used to infer
the ratio of HeII to HI ionizing photons. A measurement of this ratio would
shed light on the nature and emission mechanism of the first luminous sources,
with important astrophysical consequences for the reheating and reionization of
