How to Stabilize the Cereals Market in a Transition Economy
The Romanian cereals market is in a state of transition, because the grain marketing system is characterized by high risk for market participants. The current situation of grain market is used to estimate the necessity solutions to stabilize the market.grain grading system, price monitory systems, commodity exchange, Agribusiness, Q13,
The Romanian export with livestocks- live animals – a far-reaching activity?
In the period 2003-2014, Romania became an important source for the export of live animals (bovines and sheep), both for the intra-Community trade and for third countries. Although in the same period the imports consisted mainly of breeding animals, the balance of trade was constantly positive. The method used in the paper was the comparative analysis of trade-specific set of indicators, the main information sources being international information, reports and studies, FAOSTAT and EUROSTAT statistics. From our analysis, it results that that Romania practiced a conjuncture export, as the herds specialized in meat production, both in the case of bovines and sheep, have a significant share in total livestock herds. The reason why Romania is agreed as supplier of live animals is rather represented by the raising of animals under extensive system, where feeding is mainly based on grazing
AUTOMATIC RECOGNITION OF DENTAL PATHOLOGIES AS PART OF A CLINICAL DECISION SUPPORT PLATFORM
The current work is done within the context of Romanian National Program II (PNII) research project "Application for Using Image Data Mining and 3D Modeling in Dental Screening" (AIMMS). The AIMMS project aims to design a program that can detect anatomical information and possible pathological formations from a collection of digital imaging and communications in medicine (DICOM) images. The main function of the AIMMS platform is to provide the user with the opportunity to use an integrated dental support platform, using image processing techniques and 3D modeling. From the literature review, it can be found that for the detection and classification of teeth and dental pathologies existing studies are in their infancy. Therefore, the work reported in this article makes a scientific contribution in this field. In this article it is presented the relevant literature review and algorithms that were created for detection of dental pathologies in the context of research project AIMMS
AI COMPONENTS FOR PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT - A BIBLIOMETRIC APPROACH
This study employs a bibliometric approach to analyze the landscape of artificial intelligence (AI) components
used in performance measurement. As organizations increasingly leverage AI for optimizing processes and decisionmaking, understanding the trends in AI components becomes imperative. The identified AI components are classified
based on their roles in enhancing performance measurement, offering insights into the prevalent methodologies and
emerging technologies. The bibliometric analysis encompasses a comprehensive review of scholarly articles,
conference papers, and patents, systematically exploring the evolving field. In this research, the methodology involves
data extraction from reputable academic databases and patent repositories, followed by applying bibliometric
techniques to quantify and visualize key aspects. The findings of this study contribute to the existing knowledge by
mapping the intellectual structure of AI components for performance measurement
Observations on the Effects of the Hail on Some Apple Varieties under the Conditions of 2021
The research was carried out on 3 apple varieties, namely Golden delicious, Jonathan and Starkrimson, grown in the N-E area of Romania, within the Research Station for fruit growing Iasi, on Fălticeni development center. The plantation was established in 1990, being in 31 since planting. The trees are grafted on the MM106 rootstock, with a planting distance of 4 meters between rows and 2.5 meters between trees, with a density of 1000 trees/ha. During the agricultural year 2021, hail was observed as an extreme climatic phenomenon, recorded in June, July and August, when the trees were in the phenological stage BBCH 71-74, BBCH 75, BBCH 77 and BBCH 79. Extreme phenomena were accompanied by heavy rains and storms that affected both the quality and quantity of fruit production. The highest degree of damage was recorded in the Golden delicious variety in all four hail falls, with a percentage between 5% and 67%. Therefore, the fruit production was affected, their quality being impaired and not being commercialized as high quality fruit, for fresh consumption, but only industrialized
Mechanical Properties and Weathering Behavior of Polypropylene-Hemp Shives Composites
This paper presents the obtaining and the characterization of composites with polypropylene matrix and hemp shives as filler in different ratios and containing poly(propylene)-co maleic anhydride (MAH-PP) 3% wt as compatibility agent. The weathering behavior of the composite enclosing 60% hemp shives, performed after the exposure to UV radiations at different exposure times, was evaluated. The changes in the chemical and morphological structures were investigated by FT-IR and RAMAN spectroscopies and AFM microscopy. The mechanical characteristics of the composites were determined before and after an artificial aging process, and they are within the limits of the values reported for polyolefin-based composites and materials with natural fillers. During the accelerated weathering process, the correlation between the chemical degradation of the main components of the composite and the modification of the mechanical properties after the process of aging has been observed
Influence of Climate Change on the Phenological Stages at the Sour Cherry Genotypes
The present study establishes the influence of changes in climatic conditions on the development of ten sour cherry cultivars existing in the sour cherry germplasm fund from Research Station for Fruit Growing Iaşi, Romania. The first four phenological stages were taken in account: bud swelling (code 51 BBCH), bud burst (code 53), beginning of flowering (code 61) and end of flowering (code 69) over three different periods of time (2006-2008, 2009-2011 and 2019-2021). Were registered the number of days, the sum of active temperature (SAT), growing degree-days (GDD) as well as the correlation coefficient between the number of days and the sum of active temperature between phenological developmental stages, buds swelling and bud burst, bud burst and beginning of flowering and from beginning of flowering to the end of flowering. The results obtained in the three time periods (from 2006 to 2021) have statistically significant differences and were recorded especially at the phenophases of flowering. The study determined that the higher annual average temperature was (from 10.45℃ to 11.69℃), the more significant were the statistically differences. Thereby, phenological changes were a reaction to temperature what can be assumed also with the results of the present study
