Laughlin states on the Poincare half-plane and its quantum group symmetry
We find the Laughlin states of the electrons on the Poincare half-plane in
different representations. In each case we show that there exist a quantum
group symmetry such that the Laughlin states are a representation of
it. We calculate the corresponding filling factor by using the plasma analogy

Quantum Hall Effect Wave Functions as Cyclic Representations of U_q(sl(2))
Quantum Hall effect wave functions corresponding to the filling factors
1/2p+1, 2/2p+1, ..., 2p/2p+1, 1, are shown to form a basis of irreducible
cyclic representation of the quantum algebra U_q(sl(2)) at q^{2p+1}=1. Thus,
the wave functions \Psi_{P/Q} possessing filling factors P/Q<1 where Q is odd
and P, Q are relatively prime integers are classified in terms of U_q(sl(2)).Comment: Version to appear in Jour. Phys.
A Review of Common Problems in Design and Installation of Water Spray Cooling and Low Expansion Foam System to Protect Storage Tanks Containing Hydrocarbons Against Fires
Tank fires are rare but carry significant potential risk to life and property. For this reason fire protection of tanks is critical. Fixed Low expansion foam and water spray cooling systems are one of the most effective and economical ways to reduce damages to a tank from fire. Such systems are currently installed in many companies but are not effective enough and require involvement of firefighters which in turn threaten their lives. This paper studies in a systematic way the problems of foam and cooling systems currently installed in a few domestic companies which operate storage tanks with focus on floating and fixed roof atmospheric tanks containing hydrocarbons and offers possible solutions for more efficient installation, design and operation of such systems
Torsion Phenomenology at the LHC
We explore the potential of the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) to test the
dynamical torsion parameters. The form of the torsion action can be established
from the requirements of consistency of effective quantum field theory. The
most phenomenologically relevant part of the torsion tensor is dual to a
massive axial vector field. This axial vector has geometric nature, that means
it does not belong to any representation of the gauge group of the SM extension
or GUT theory. At the same time, torsion should interact with all fermions,
that opens the way for the phenomenological applications.
We demonstrate that LHC collider can establish unique constraints on the
interactions between fermions and torsion field considerably exceeding present
experimental lower bounds on the torsion couplings and its mass. It is also
shown how possible non-universal nature of torsion couplings due to the
renormalization group running between the Planck and TeV energy scales can be
tested via the combined analysis of Drell-Yan and production
processes
Combined effect of workplace noise and smoking on some hematological parameters on workers in a food manufacturing plant.
Generally, no industry can be found to be safe in terms of noise pollution. Noise is the wide- spread form of environmental stressor in the industrialized urban areas.
Aim: the purpose of this paper is to evaluate the combined effect of workplace noise and smoking on some hematological parameters on employing work in a food manufacturing plant.
This is a retrospective study before and after for five years since starting of the work. In this study, 50 male subjects participated: smokers (n=11) and nonsmokers (n=39), for further individual information and certain specific points, a developed standard questionnaire, were filled out by participants. For the past 4-year’s details, blood tests and medical records of persons since initially hired, were used. The details of the fifth year were measured by the presenters. Using the ISO protocol 1999 and 9612, workplace noise was measured and the noise map was drawn using arc-view GIS software. Statistical analysis SPSS software version 18 was investigated. Due to the nature of the study, the significance level was set at a P value ≤0.1.

Multispecies reaction-diffusion systems
Multispecies reaction-diffusion systems, for which the time evolution
equation of correlation functions become a closed set, are considered. A formal
solution for the average densities is found. Some special interactions and the
exact time dependence of the average densities in these cases are also studied.
For the general case, the large time behaviour of the average densities has

Quantum group symmetry of the Quantum Hall effect on the non-flat surfaces
After showing that the magnetic translation operators are not the symmetries
of the QHE on non-flat surfaces , we show that there exist another set of
operators which leads to the quantum group symmetries for some of these
surfaces . As a first example we show that the symmetry of the QHE on
sphere leads to algebra in the equator . We explain this result by a
contraction of . Secondly , with the help of the symmetry operators of
QHE on the Pioncare upper half plane , we will show that the ground state wave

Electrostatic self-energy and Bekenstein entropy bound in the massive Schwinger model
We obtain the electrostatic energy of two opposite charges near the horizon
of stationary black-holes in the massive Schwinger model. Besides the confining
aspects of the model, we discuss the Bekenstein entropy upper bound of a
charged object using the generalized second law. We show that despite the
massless case, in the massive Schwinger model the entropy of the black hole and
consequently the Bekenstein bound are altered by the vacuum polarization.Comment: 14 pages, accepted for publication in "Gen. Rel. Grav. (2005)
Autonomous multispecies reaction-diffusion systems with more-than-two-site interactions
Autonomous multispecies systems with more-than-two-neighbor interactions are
studied. Conditions necessary and sufficient for closedness of the evolution
equations of the -point functions are obtained. The average number of the
particles at each site for one species and three-site interactions, and its
generalization to the more-than-three-site interactions is explicitly obtained.
Generalizations of the Glauber model in different directions, using generalized
rates, generalized number of states at each site, and generalized number of

Thermodynamic Properties of a Quantum Group Boson Gas
An approach is proposed enabling to effectively describe the behaviour of a
bosonic system. The approach uses the quantum group formalism. In
effect, considering a bosonic Hamiltonian in terms of the
generators, it is shown that its thermodynamic properties are connected to
deformation parameters and . For instance, the average number of
particles and the pressure have been computed. If is fixed to be the same
value for , our approach coincides perfectly with some results developed
recently in this subject. The ordinary results, of the present system, can be
