Fast Generation Algorithm of Digital Hologram based Depth Difference Temporal Filtering

A CGH (Computer-Generated Hologram) is produced by calculating the interference pattern between the object wave and the reference wave. Thus it has been developed to get some ideal characteristics of CGH that are not possible in reality or to test the characteristics of a hologram. To generate a CGH with the hologram resolution of (M×N) for a 3D object having K light source, basically (N×N×K) calculational iterations are necessary. This paper proposes an algorithm that increases the speed of generating a digital hologram using a depth different temporal filtering (DDTF) of a depth video sequence. The proposed algorithm is a technique that performs CGH operation with only calculation the different depth values between the depth video frames. The experimental results showed that the proposed algorithm increased operation speed by 65 % over the technique using the conventional CGH equation

PPM1A Controls Diabetic Gene Programming through Directly Dephosphorylating PPAR?? at Ser273

Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPAR gamma) is a master regulator of adipose tissue biology. In obesity, phosphorylation of PPAR gamma at Ser273 (pSer273) by cyclin-dependent kinase 5 (CDK5)/extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) orchestrates diabetic gene reprogramming via dysregulation of specific gene expression. Although many recent studies have focused on the development of non-classical agonist drugs that inhibit the phosphorylation of PPAR gamma at Ser273, the molecular mechanism of PPAR gamma dephosphorylation at Ser273 is not well characterized. Here, we report that protein phosphatase Mg2+/Mn2+-dependent 1A (PPM1A) is a novel PPAR gamma phosphatase that directly dephosphorylates Ser273 and restores diabetic gene expression which is dysregulated by pSer273. The expression of PPM1A significantly decreases in two models of insulin resistance: diet-induced obese (DIO) mice and db/db mice, in which it negatively correlates with pSer273. Transcriptomic analysis using microarray and genotype-tissue expression (GTEx) data in humans shows positive correlations between PPM1A and most of the genes that are dysregulated by pSer273. These findings suggest that PPM1A dephosphorylates PPAR gamma at Ser273 and represents a potential target for the treatment of obesity-linked metabolic disorders

A Three-Decade Decline in the Homeownership Gender Gap: What Drove the Change, and Where Do We Go from Here?

Over the past 30 years, women have made tremendous gains in closing both the income and the education gaps between them and men, and growth in their homeownership rates has become an important manifestation of these trends. In 1990, there were 15.7 million female-headed homeowner households. By 2019, that number had reached 39.2 million. In contrast, the number of male-headed homeowner households decreased from 44.4 million to 43.1 million. In this report, we examine homeownership by the gender of the household head and how it has changed over the past three decades. Our analysis explores factors narrowing the homeownership gender gap, overall and by race and ethnicity. This narrowing can be attributed mostly to gains in household income, followed closely by the fact that more married women are head of household
