In this paper we show that a flag-transitive automorphism group GG of a non-trivial 22-(v,k,λ)(v,k,\lambda) design with λ≥(r,λ)2\lambda\geq (r, \lambda)^2 is not of product action type. In conclusion, GG is a primitive group of affine or almost simple type.Comment: 13 pages,2 figure

Towards a muon scattering tomography system for both low-Z and high-Z materials

Muon scattering tomography (MST) is a non-destructive technique to image various materials by utilizing cosmic ray muons as probes. A typical MST system with a two-fold track detectors is particularly effective in detecting high-ZZ materials (e.g. nuclear materials), but difficult to recognize low-ZZ materials (e.g. explosive materials). In this work, we present a concept of MST system to discriminate both low-ZZ and high-ZZ materials by extra measuring momentum of low-energy muons with a Cherenkov detector. A toy Monte Carlo simulation to describe detector responses and multiple scatterings of a muon tracking through materials is developed for statistical tests. Based on momentum-dependent track reconstruction and image reconstruction algorithm, we evaluate separation powers of different materials in the system. The results show that momentum measurement of low-energy muons and accurate track reconstruction can improve separation power of low-ZZ materials significantly. This may enable the MST system to detect both low-ZZ and high-ZZ materials with cosmic ray muons in the whole energy range.Comment: 17 pages with 13 figures and 1 tabl

Access, Oppression, and Social (In)Justice in Epidemic Control: Race, Profession, and Communication in SARS Outbreaks in Canada and Singapore

This article investigates issues of social injustice experienced by various oppressed groups in SARS outbreaks in 2003, paying particular attention to medical care workers in Canada and Singapore, with many of them being immigrants from East Asia and Southeast Asia. It identifies communication strategies employed by civic networks, especially nonprofit organizations, to help marginalized groups acquire institutional and literacy accesses so that they could respond more effectively to such injustices in complicated and multicultural contexts. Through combined use of Jost and Kay’s work on the three types of social justice (2010), oppression (Young, 1990), and access (Porter, 1998), this study produces rich and multifaceted insights about issues of social injustice in SARS outbreaks. More importantly, it elaborates on the theoretical connections among the three social justice theories and shows possible entry points, particularly the conjunction between process control and informational justice, for professional communicators to produce constructive responses to social injustices and to promote social justice and access for marginalized groups

Background: The peacekeeping military units of contributing countries are unfamiliar with the conditions prevailing in foreign mission areas and therefore have difficulties with medical supplies storage.Aim: The aim of this study is to provide reasonable and practical guidance on the maintenance of medical supplies in the peacekeeping military units of contributing countries.Materials and methods: A total of 1,972 prescriptions were received by the pharmacy in the peacekeeping level II hospital in the Republic of Sudan from February to July of 2009 including a total of 186 drug categories and 17,713 minimum packing units. Pairwise comparison was performed using the c2 test. When thetotal number of samples was smaller than 40, the Fisher’s exact test was adopted for pairwise comparison. Results: The majority of the consumed medicines mainly belonged to 6 categories, including specialty drugs, anti-microbial drugs, Chinese patent medicines, gastrointestinal drugs, central nervous system drugs, and drugs regulating fluids, electrolytes, and acid-base balance. Altogether, the drugs in the 6 categories accounted for 74% of all consumed medicines that were divided into a total of 20 categories. Conclusions: Medicine consumption in peacekeeping level II hospitals is unique, therefore the drugs used in military medical facilities should be prepared according to their actual needs in the area of peacekeeping operations

AbstractIt was significant for energy save and environment protection that heat recovering high temperature and high humidity air directly discharged into the atmosphere. Based on high temperature and high humidity mine retention tower and return air fluid, the air heat recovery simulation experiment device was designed, and air heat recovery experiment was researched by using spray heat exchanger. Heat exchange efficiency was tested by experiment with certain water spray coefficient and different nozzle number, and experiment result that was error analysis and data correction through compared with theoretical analysis results. Result showed that the air heat recovery simulation device can recycle heat of air fluid stably, and rise temperature of spray cold water to about 15°C. The heat exchange efficiency would be 90% with certain water spray coefficient, which is basically identical with theoretical analysis. Energy saving effect of this device was remarkable with high heat exchange efficiency

Nuclei micro-array FISH, a desirable alternative for MCL diagnosis

Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is a rare, specific lymphoma subtype. Though the morphologic and immunophenotypic features of MCL have been well described in recent literatures, it is still a diagnostic dilemma because of its frequent confusion with other small B cell lymphomas (SBCLs). In the present study, we primarily focus on establishing a sensitive and specific method for the diagnosis of MCL, which is efficient to distinguish this disease from other SBCLs. We carried out our investigation for MCL and other SBCLs (including SLL, FL, MZL, and MALT) on their feature of morphology, immunophenotype, and t(11;14)(q13;q32) translocation analysis based on polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and interphase nuclei micro-array fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH). The morphologic and immunologic analysis showed the positive rate of cyclin D1 was 76.47% in MCL, which was significantly higher than that in other SBCLs. The positive rate of t(11;14) translocation was 25.81% and 35.48%, respectively, tested by general and semi-nested PCR, while 93.10% positive rate was shown with low background and strong signals pattern when tested by Nuclei micro-array FISH. Our research shows that t(11;14) translocation is a special and useful diagnostic marker for MCL, and detection of the marker by nuclei micro-array FISH is convenient and economic, especially more sensitive and specific than other methods for the diagnosis of MCL

in recent years, new teaching reform mode is common, and more and more are applied in teaching work. However, diff erent teaching reforms achieve diff erent goals. As long as the reform mode can achieve high-quality teaching eff ect, it is the pursuit of teachers. At present, we should consider whether diff erent reform models can be integrated with each other. After the integration, we may get the ideal teaching eff ect. Therefore, teachers should put forward more innovative teaching methods. We should make rational use of diff erent teaching reform modes to make teaching achievements to a higher level

Single Stage Virtual Try-on via Deformable Attention Flows

Virtual try-on aims to generate a photo-realistic fitting result given an in-shop garment and a reference person image. Existing methods usually build up multi-stage frameworks to deal with clothes warping and body blending respectively, or rely heavily on intermediate parser-based labels which may be noisy or even inaccurate. To solve the above challenges, we propose a single-stage try-on framework by developing a novel Deformable Attention Flow (DAFlow), which applies the deformable attention scheme to multi-flow estimation. With pose keypoints as the guidance only, the self- and cross-deformable attention flows are estimated for the reference person and the garment images, respectively. By sampling multiple flow fields, the feature-level and pixel-level information from different semantic areas are simultaneously extracted and merged through the attention mechanism. It enables clothes warping and body synthesizing at the same time which leads to photo-realistic results in an end-to-end manner. Extensive experiments on two try-on datasets demonstrate that our proposed method achieves state-of-the-art performance both qualitatively and quantitatively. Furthermore, additional experiments on the other two image editing tasks illustrate the versatility of our method for multi-view synthesis and image animation.Comment: ECCV 202
