Some optimal embeddings of symplectic ellipsoids
We construct symplectic embeddings of ellipsoids of dimension into
the product of a 4-ball or 4-dimensional cube with Euclidean space. A sequence
of these embeddings can be shown to be optimal
Symplectic capacities of domains in C^2
We derive new estimates for the Gromov width of certain domains in C^2
Maximal regularity to the Stokes Problem with Navier boundary conditions
We prove in this paper some results on the complex and fractional powers of
the Stokes operator with slip frictionless boundary conditions involving the
stress tensor. This is fundamental and plays an important role in the
associated parabolic problem and will be used to prove maximal
regularity results for the non-homogeneous Stokes problem
"Promotion Nationale: Forty-Five Years of Experience of Public Works in Morocco"
Created in 1961, Promotion Nationale (PN) is an autonomous public entity in charge of mobilizing an underemployed or unemployed workforce for the implementation of labor-intensive projects, calling upon a simple technology likely to provide employment to unskilled workers. It is one of the major programs of social protection in Moroccoâthe oldest, most important, and best-targeted social program in the country. Vis-Ă -vis the importance of rural underemployment, especially during dry years, estimated per million working days, PN aims to improve employment opportunities by developing collective working methods, and by generating large-scale investment for the realization of public infrastructure projects and rural equipment. This institution aims at limiting rural migration through the permanent improvement of local incomes and living conditions. It thus constitutes a safety net for a large part of the population, especially in rural areas. Forty-five years after its creation, PN has at its credit an important and single assessment regarding the fight against unemployment with minimal management costs, in spite of certain difficulties and limitations that hinder the organization, particularly in terms of the geographical targeting of rural poverty zones.
Random monitoring in financing relationships
This paper examines a financier's optimal monitoring intensity in a multi-period financing relationship. We identify conditions under which the financier should sometimes misidentify the quality of an entrepreneur. Such an imperfect evaluation technology affects action choices by bad entrepreneurs. We first characterize the optimal monitoring intensity and show that it is one in which the investor monitors entrepreneurs randomly. Random monitoring in the first stage of a relationship induces bad entrepreneurs to reveal their intrinsic types. Second, because random monitoring reduces the share of bad entrepreneurs in the subsequent periods, we show that the financier can therefore realize substantial gains.Incentives; Monitoring; Screening
Independent review of supply side organisations and government intermediaries: volume 3 literature review
This document reviews national and international literature and experience concerning strengthening the capacity of supply side and intermediary organisations. It synthesises lessons relevant to the Knowledge Sector Initiative in Indonesia run by Australia\u27s Departmentment of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
The key question this literature synthesis aimed to answer is what can we learn from international experience about strengthening the capacity of Indonesian supply side and intermediary organisations to improve the production and uptake of evidence.
In answering this question the following research themes
were addressed:
âą what is evidence-based policy?
âą what is capacity strengthening?
âą what is contemporary good practice of capacity strengthening programs?
âą what models of intermediary organisations are there in the literature?
âą what types of support mechanisms and funding models are available to donors and which are the most effective?
âą what are the characteristics of effective supply side and intermediary organisations?
âą how important are donor-grantee relationships
