Digital Demodulator for BFSK waveform based upon Correlator and Differentiator Systems
The present article relates in general to digital demodulation of Binary Frequency Shift Keying (BFSK waveform) . New processing methods for demodulating the BFSK-signals are proposed here. Based on Sampler Correlator, the hardware consumption for the proposed techniques is reduced in comparison with other reported. Theoretical details concerning limits of applicability are also given by closed-form expressions. Simulation experiments are illustrated to validate the overall performance
Limits on Hot Intracluster Gas Contributions to the Tenerife Temperature Anisotropy Map
We limit the contribution of the hot intracluster gas, by means of the
Sunyaev-Zel'dovich effect, to the temperature anisotropies measured by the
Tenerife experiment. The data is cross-correlated with maps generated from the
ACO cluster catalogue, the ROSAT PSPC catalogue of clusters of galaxies, a
catalogue of superclusters and the HEAO 1 A-1 map of X-ray sources. There is no
evidence of contamination by such sources at an rms level of K at
99% confidence level at angular resolution. We place an upper limit on
the mean Comptonization parameter of at the same
level of confidence. These limits are slightly more restrictive than those
previously found by a similar analysis on the COBE/DMR data and indicate that
most of the signal measured by Tenerife is cosmological.Comment: To be published in ApJ (main journal
Symmetric and Asymmetric Coalescence of Drops on a Substrate
The coalescence of viscous drops on a substrate is studied experimentally and
theoretically. We consider cases where the drops can have different contact
angles, leading to a very asymmetric coalescence process. Side view experiments
reveal that the "bridge" connecting the drops evolves with self-similar
dynamics, providing a new perspective on the coalescence of sessile drops. We
show that the universal shape of the bridge is accurately described by
similarity solutions of the one-dimensional lubrication equation. Our theory
predicts a bridge that grows linearly in time and stresses the strong
dependence on the contact angles. Without any adjustable parameters, we find
quantitative agreement with all experimental observations.Comment: 5 pages, 4 figure
Towards gauge theories in four dimensions
The abundance of infrared singularities in gauge theories due to unresolved
emission of massless particles (soft and collinear) represents the main
difficulty in perturbative calculations. They are typically regularized in
dimensional regularization, and their subtraction is usually achieved
independently for virtual and real corrections. In this paper, we introduce a
new method based on the loop-tree duality (LTD) theorem to accomplish the
summation over degenerate infrared states directly at the integrand level such
that the cancellation of the infrared divergences is achieved simultaneously,
and apply it to reference examples as a proof of concept. Ultraviolet
divergences, which are the consequence of the point-like nature of the theory,
are also reinterpreted physically in this framework. The proposed method opens
the intriguing possibility of carrying out purely four-dimensional
implementations of higher-order perturbative calculations at next-to-leading
order (NLO) and beyond free of soft and final-state collinear subtractions.Comment: Final version to appear in JHE

ratios between branching fractions of decays
providing important information to check the structure of the

disagreement between experimental data and Heavy Quark Symmetry has been used
as an indication that and mesons could
have a more complex structure than the canonical one. We analyze
these ratios within the framework of a constituent quark model, which allows us
to incorporate the effects given by finite -quark mass corrections. Our
findings are that while the meson could have a sizable
non- component, the and mesons
