This contribution investigates the verbal morphology of the alpine-lombard dialect spoken in Val Bregaglia (Canton Grisons, Switzerland), examining the paradigmatic distribution of stem allomorphy in the variety of the upper part of the valley (Sopraporta). The paper consists of a first part aimed at providing an overview of the morphological specificities of the verbal inflection of the dialect under scrutiny and of a second part dedicated to an in-depth analysis of the data focusing on the identification of autonomously morphological or ‘morphomic’ alternation patterns in (moderately) irregular verbs

Due atlanti dialettali digitali italo-romanzi in via di realizzazione a Zurigo

This paper reports on two SNSF-funded research projects currently underway at the University of Zurich. The first (AIS, the digital turn, a sequel project to AIS, reloaded) aims at rendering the AIS data collected in the early 20th century available in a searchable and exportable digital format, while at the same time collecting parallel present-day data to enable a comparison of the two synchronic phases a century apart. The second project (MIRA, Mappatura dell’Italo-Romanzo Antico) is aimed at filling a long-standing research gap by contributing to the creation of a linguistic atlas of ancient Italian vernaculars. We will briefly describe objectives and procedures of both projects and offer some examples of their results
