Práticas e intencionalidades educativas no ensino do 1º e 2º ciclos do ensino básico
ABSTRACT Legislative changes in 2007, the regime's license for teaching, came to extend the areas of generalist qualification, going to understand the joint qualification for the 1st cycle and 2nd cycle of basic education. This report presents a description of the process of personal and professional development experienced as a student of the Master in Teaching 1st and 2nd cycle of basic education over the internships in both valences. In order to produce knowledge about the educational intervention, based on reflective practice, considered fundamental for the exercise and development of professionalism. To this end, we opted for a qualitative study, referring to the study participants, composed of twenty four students of the 1st cycle of basic education and twenty of the 2nd cycle of basic education. Throughout the report is placed in evidence the professional and personal development of the trainee in both valences, given a detailed description of the educational intervention in both contexts and the consequent reflection. Being a teacher, in our times, is not an easy task. To meet the changing needs of society, the teacher should seek to diversify their teaching practices, organize learning environments motivating and stimulating to know the different intelligences of your students and know how to take advantage of them, promoting meaningful learning. The teacher has the responsibility to develop the creative potential of each student and support the development of critical citizens and participatory. The teacher should have an increasingly dynamic character, reflective, complex and transdisciplinary.ESEPF1
Data and Artificial Intelligence: Mismatch Between Expectations and Uses
People like to hide behind their phones when it comes to social media. Not every user has their real name or their own photo on display in their social media account. To obfuscate their identities, some users use unusual usernames and profile photos that are divorced from their true identity
Benefits of using reading strategies in elementary bilingual classrooms
This quantitative study focused on the benefits of reading strategies used by second grade students. What strategies they can use to comprehend tasks, what textual cues they attend, how to make sense of what they read, and what they do when they do not understand a word. In this study, a questionnaire was given to the students. The questionnaire had a list of reading strategies in which students chose the strategy they felt more comfortable to use whenever they needed in order to comprehend a text. The data collected was analyzed and served its purpose of helping one reach the conclusion that reading strategies are beneficial for these students
Future Directions: An Alternate Organizational Lens on Middle-of-the-Road Education Reforms. A Response to Navigating Middle-of-the-Road Reforms through Collaborative Community
This essay response critically examines and expands on the arguments put forth by the authors of “Navigating Middle-of-the-Road Reforms through Collaborative Community.” Using organizational theory, the paper clarifies questions about the theoretical construct of collaborative community and middle-of-the-road reforms. It concludes by offering two paths for further study that focus on exploring the various levels of democratizing influence enacted by the policy tensions the authors described and by suggesting a closer examination of the resulting organizational responses
Dynamics of salt marsh biomes in response to inundation
This thesis aims to increase our understanding of how the tripartite interaction between plant-animal-microbiota responds to an environmental change, i.e., inundation frequency. Particularly, this thesis focuses on the interactions among three community components of the late-successional stage of a salt marsh ecosystem in Western Europe. These key players are the tall grass Elytrigia atherica (Sea couch), the burrowing litter-feeding amphipod Orchestia gammarellus, and microbes, i.e., the plant and amphipod associated microbiota and soil microbiota. The results showed that salt marsh elevation, as a proxy of inundation frequency, was an important driver of soil properties, affecting both macro- and microbiota. However, the impact of the environmental changes associated with elevation varied depending on the organism, affecting their bacterial communities. On the one hand, the bacterial composition from the digestive tract of O. gammarellus was not significantly affected by elevation, which may be related to the low impact of the local environment on host life history and tolerance traits. On the other hand, elevation had a strong effect on E. atherica traits, rhizosphere, and root endosphere bacterial community composition. Furthermore, the interaction of O. gammarellus with E. atherica affected the taxonomic and functional components of soil bacterial communities differently compared to each component separately. Altogether, this thesis highlights the importance of including macroorganisms in soil microbial studies and vice versa since their response to disturbances are intimately linked to each other
AvaSure: Remote Patient Video Monitoring to Enhance Safety
AvaSure is a 24/7 live video monitoring software used for hospitalized patients to ensure their safety while alone in the room. A TeleSitter watches the footage and can speak to the patients directly, reminding them to stay in bed, aiming to reduce safety incidences such as falls. The TeleSitter can alarm the nurse when a patient begins to get up or pull at their IV site. This project was our Nursing Capstone topic that we presented at Danbury Hospital on a medical unit that utilizes AvaSure
