Water resource records of the Econfina Creek Basin area, Florida
The Econfina Creek basin area in northwestern Florida, which includes Bay
County, southeastern Washiigton County, and parts of Calhoun, Gulf, and
Jackson counties is shown in figure 1. The basin has an abundant supply of
ground water and surface water of good quality. This determination is based on
a three-year investigation of the water resources of the basin by the U. S.
Geological Survey in cooperation with the Division of Geology, Florida Board of
Conservation, during the period from October 1961 through June 1964. The
purpose of this report is to assemble the basic data collected during this
investigation for those persons interested in water development or management
in this basin.

From Physical to Cyber: Escalating Protection for Personalized Auto Insurance
Nowadays, auto insurance companies set personalized insurance rate based on
data gathered directly from their customers' cars. In this paper, we show such
a personalized insurance mechanism -- wildly adopted by many auto insurance
companies -- is vulnerable to exploit. In particular, we demonstrate that an
adversary can leverage off-the-shelf hardware to manipulate the data to the
device that collects drivers' habits for insurance rate customization and
obtain a fraudulent insurance discount. In response to this type of attack, we
also propose a defense mechanism that escalates the protection for insurers'
data collection. The main idea of this mechanism is to augment the insurer's
data collection device with the ability to gather unforgeable data acquired
from the physical world, and then leverage these data to identify manipulated
data points. Our defense mechanism leveraged a statistical model built on
unmanipulated data and is robust to manipulation methods that are not foreseen
previously. We have implemented this defense mechanism as a proof-of-concept
prototype and tested its effectiveness in the real world. Our evaluation shows
that our defense mechanism exhibits a false positive rate of 0.032 and a false

The Connection between Supernova Remnants and the Galactic Magnetic Field: A Global Radio Study of the Axisymmetric Sample
The study of supernova remnants (SNRs) is fundamental to understanding the
chemical enrichment and magnetism in galaxies, including our own Milky Way. In
an effort to understand the connection between the morphology of SNRs and the
Galactic magnetic field (GMF), we have examined the radio images of all known
SNRs in our Galaxy and compiled a large sample that have an "axisymmetric"
morphology, which we define to mean SNRs with a "bilateral" or "barrel"-shaped
morphology, in addition to one-sided shells. We selected the cleanest examples
and model each of these at their appropriate Galactic position using two GMF
models, those of Jansson & Farrar (2012a), which includes a vertical halo
component, and Sun et al. (2008) that is oriented entirely parallel to the
plane. Since the magnitude and relative orientation of the magnetic field
changes with distance from the sun, we analyse a range of distances, from 0.5
to 10 kpc in each case. Using a physically motivated model of a SNR expanding
into the ambient GMF, we find the models using Jansson & Farrar (2012a) are
able to reproduce observed morphologies of many SNRs in our sample. These
results strongly support the presence of an off-plane, vertical component to
the GMF, and the importance of the Galactic field on SNR morphology. Our
approach also provides a potential new method for determining distances to
SNRs, or conversely, distances to features in the large-scale GMF if SNR
