Intergenerational Activism in College Sport: A Critical Examination of the Civil Rights, Black Power, and Black Lives Matter Movement Eras
The purpose of this manuscript is to examine the influence of activism in and through college sport during two prominent eras of Black social movements, the Civil Rights movement (CRM) and Black Power movement (BPM) of 1950s-1970s and the Black Lives Matter movement (BLMM) of 2010s-2020s. Using a race- and sport-based analytic framework, distinctive forms of activism are examined to highlight similarities and differences in strategies, focal areas, and outcomes across time, space, and context. College sport is a highly visible feature of the United States (U.S.) and thus has served as an influential space for championing equity and racial justice within and beyond athletic milieu. Yet, there is a dearth of scholarship focusing on the role of activism in and through college sport in redressing anti-Black racism at the institutional and societal levels. The critical examination of intergenerational activism in and through college sport revealed the power and limitations of efforts within this distinctive socio-political space. Recommendations for future efforts are presented
Entropy inequalities and Bell inequalities for two-qubit systems
Sufficient conditions for (the non-violation of) the Bell-CHSH inequalities
in a mixed state of a two-qubit system are: 1) The linear entropy of the state
is not smaller than 0.5, 2) The sum of the conditional linear entropies is
non-negative, 3) The von Neumann entropy is not smaller than 0.833, 4) The sum

The Bell Theorem as a Special Case of a Theorem of Bass
The theorem of Bell states that certain results of quantum mechanics violate
inequalities that are valid for objective local random variables. We show that
the inequalities of Bell are special cases of theorems found ten years earlier
by Bass and stated in full generality by Vorob'ev. This fact implies precise
necessary and sufficient mathematical conditions for the validity of the Bell
inequalities. We show that these precise conditions differ significantly from
the definition of objective local variable spaces and as an application that
the Bell inequalities may be violated even for objective local random

What happens to ART-eligible patients who do not start ART? Drop out between screening and ART initiation: a cohort study in Karonga, Malawi
BACKGROUND: Routine ART programme statistics generally only provide information about individuals who start treatment. We aimed to investigate the outcome of those who are eligible but do not start ART in the Malawi programme, factors associated with this dropout, and reasons for not starting treatment, in a prospective cohort study.METHODS: Individuals having a first screening visit at the ART clinic at Karonga District Hospital, northern Malawi, between September 2005 and July 2006 were interviewed. Study follow-up to identify treatment outcomes was conducted at the clinic and in the community. Logistic regression models were used to identify factors associated with dropout before ART initiation among participants identified as clinically eligible for ART.RESULTS: 88 participants eligible for ART at their first screening visit (out of 633, 13.9%) defaulted before starting ART. Participants with less education, difficulties in dressing, a more delayed ART initiation appointment, and mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC) < 22 cm were significantly less likely to have visited the clinic subsequently. Thirty-five (58%) of the 60 participants who defaulted and were tracked at home had died, 21 before their ART initiation appointment.CONCLUSIONS: MUAC and reported difficulties in dressing may provide useful screening indicators to identify sicker ART-eligible individuals at high risk of dropping out of the programme who might benefit from being brought back quickly or admitted to hospital for observation. Individuals with less education may need adapted health information at screening. Deaths of ART-eligible individuals occurring prior to ART initiation are not included in routine programme statistics. Considering all those who are eligible for ART as a denominator for programme indicators would help to highlight this vulnerable group, in order to identify new opportunities for further improving ART programmes
A Rigorous Path Integral for Supersymmetric Quantum Mechanics and the Heat Kernel
In a rigorous construction of the path integral for supersymmetric quantum
mechanics on a Riemann manifold, based on B\"ar and Pf\"affle's use of
piecewise geodesic paths, the kernel of the time evolution operator is the heat
kernel for the Laplacian on forms. The path integral is approximated by the
integral of a form on the space of piecewise geodesic paths which is the
pullback by a natural section of Mathai and Quillen's Thom form of a bundle
over this space.
In the case of closed paths, the bundle is the tangent space to the space of
geodesic paths, and the integral of this form passes in the limit to the

Extracting Lyapunov exponents from the echo dynamics of Bose-Einstein condensates on a lattice
We propose theoretically an experimentally realizable method to demonstrate
the Lyapunov instability and to extract the value of the largest Lyapunov
exponent for a chaotic many-particle interacting system. The proposal focuses
specifically on a lattice of coupled Bose-Einstein condensates in the classical
regime describable by the discrete Gross-Pitaevskii equation. We suggest to use
imperfect time-reversal of system's dynamics known as Loschmidt echo, which can
be realized experimentally by reversing the sign of the Hamiltonian of the
system. The routine involves tracking and then subtracting the noise of
virtually any observable quantity before and after the time-reversal. We
support the theoretical analysis by direct numerical simulations demonstrating
that the largest Lyapunov exponent can indeed be extracted from the Loschmidt
echo routine. We also discuss possible values of experimental parameters
required for implementing this proposal
All multipartite Bell correlation inequalities for two dichotomic observables per site
We construct a set of 2^(2^n) independent Bell correlation inequalities for
n-partite systems with two dichotomic observables each, which is complete in
the sense that the inequalities are satisfied if and only if the correlations
considered allow a local classical model. All these inequalities can be
summarized in a single, albeit non-linear inequality. We show that quantum
correlations satisfy this condition provided the state has positive partial
transpose with respect to any grouping of the n systems into two subsystems. We
also provide an efficient algorithm for finding the maximal quantum mechanical
violation of each inequality, and show that the maximum is always attained for
