Coadsorption of Beryllium and Potassium on a (001) Tungsten Plane

The adsorption and coadsorption of beryllium and potassium on the tungsten (001) plane was studied using a probe-hole field electron microscope (FEM). Measurements were made at 78 K for potassium and at 300 K for beryllium. It has been found that the adsorption of potassium decreases and that of beryllium increases the work function of the W(001) plane. At small coverages with potassium atoms (θ$\text{}_{k}$ < 0.2) on the W(001) plane successive evaporation of beryllium atoms causes a decrease of the work function. At larger coverages with potassium atoms an opposite effect is observed. An attempt has been made to compare the experimental results with the theoretical models suggested recently

Influence of simplifying the technology of purifying biogas on the effectiveness of this process

Siarkowodór mimo że występuje w biogazie w niewielkich stężeniach powoduje m.in. korozje armatury stalowej, starzenie substancji smarnych i niszczenie komór spalania jednostek CHP. Celem pracy było określenie parametrów efektywności procesu odsiarczania biogazu przy wykorzystaniu złoża zawierającego głównie wodorotlenek żelaza (III). Uproszczenie polegało na zastosowaniu metody odsiarczania suchej bez regeneracji złoża tlenem. W wyniku przeprowadzonych badań określono efektywny zakres pracy złoża filtracyjnego przy przepływie już od 0,3 NL/min biogazu.Hydrogen sulphide even though is found in biogas in little concentrations causes corrosions of steel fittings among others, grow old of spreadable substances and destroying of combustion chambers of CHP units. The aim of the study was to determine effectiveness parameters of biogas desulphurising process utilising a deposit containing primarily iron oxide (III). With simplification it is an application of the desulphurizing dry method without the regeneration of the deposit with oxygen. Durability test for common reed pellets

W artykule przedstawiono badania współczynnika trwałości dla peletów wykonanych z trzciny pospolitej i odniesiono otrzymane wyniki do współczynnika trwałości peletów ze słomy pszenicznej. Stwierdzono różnice badanych wielkości. Wskazano także na pracochłonność procedur badawczych i konieczność prowadzenia prac nad wpływem wilgotności na współczynnik trwałości.This paper presents the study of durability for common reed pellets and refers the results to durability of wheat straw pellets. Differences in researched quantities have been stated. Time-consuming testing procedures and the need to work on the influence of humidity on the durability factor have been also indicated

Briquetting machines for straw - return rate comparison

Na podstawie danych producentów porównano koszty zakupu i eksploatacji trzech wybranych modeli brykieciarek do słomy. Obliczono czas zwrotu inwestycji przy założeniu dysponowania własnym materiałem wsadowym i robocizną. Analiza może być przydatna dla rolników planujących zakup brykieciarki na własne potrzeby.Cost of purchase and using of three chosen models of briqueting machines for straw on the basisc of 3 different producers have been compared. Returning time of investment has been calculated to assume that producer has own stock material and labour cost at his disposal. The analysis can be useful for farmers planning to purchase briquetting machines for personal use

Analysis of sawdust briquetting technology

Porównano metody produkcji zwykłych brykietów, jak i minibrykietów (peletów). Stwierdzono, że jednostkowy koszt wytworzenia peletów trocinowych jest wyższy niż zwykłych brykietów. Przyczynę takiego stanu rzeczy należy upatrywać w stosowaniu zbyt energochłonnych maszyn. Dlatego korzystniejszą z punktu widzenia indywidualnego odbiorcy, wydaje się być produkcja zwykłych brykietów. Dla tej technologii wykonano więc analizę finansową, wskazując na możliwości zmniejszenia kosztów.Two methods of producing both "normal" briquettes and pellets have been compared. It has been stated that the unit cost of manufacturing sawdust pellets is higher than these normal ones. The main reason of this state is probably applying too energy-consuming machines. That is why manufacturing normal briquettes seems to be more profitable from individual consumer point of view. Financial analysis of the illustrative production line indicating possibility of reducing costs has been carried out

The present paper concerns initial studies on the contact strength of new constructional solutions regarding bolt heads and cooperating tools. The investigation concerned bolts with mechanical property classes used for typical reliable bolted joints (engine heads, connecting-rods etc.)

Biogas productivity of the switchgrass at using the method of alkali convertion of substrates

Proso rózgowate jest szeroko propagowaną rośliną energetyczną wykorzystywaną pierwotnie w procesie spalania biomasy. W artykule omówiono wpływ wstępnego przetwarzania prosa rózgowatego zasadą sodową na produktywność biogazową i dynamikę produkcji. Celem przeprowadzonych badań było określenie wzrostu produktywności biogazowej przy obniżonym poziomie stężenia ługu w szczepionej próbce. Badania wykazały poprawę dynamiki procesu (produktywność chwilowa) oraz zauważalny wzrost produkcji biogazu (o 11%).The switchgrass is a widely propagated energy plant used originally in the process of consuming biomass. In the article an influence of the pretreatment of the millet was discussed switchgrass with alkali (NaOH) to the biogas productivity and production dynamics. Determining the increase in the biogas productivity by the lowered level of the concentration of alkali was an aim of conducted examinations. Examinations showed the improvement in dynamics of the process (momentary productivity) and noticeable rise in the total biogas production (by the 11%)
