PUBLIC HEALTH ACHIEVEMENTS AND CHALLENGES: SYMPOSIUM OF THE UNIVERSITY OF MOSTAR FACULTY OF HEALTH STUDIES
Public health is an important area of health care that reflects the readiness of the state and society to provide the welfare of all
citizens through the promotion of health and the preservation of a healthy environment - factors that directly affect the health of the population. The field of public health is very broad and its concept is changing over time, being defined in a narrower and wider sense. In short, public health is a science and practice that aims at ensuring the conditions in which people can preserve and improve their health and prevent health damage. The third millennium brings its specifics, needs and priorities according to challenges public health is faced by in the twenty-first century: the economic crisis, rising inequality, population aging, rising rates of chronic diseases, migration, urbanization, ecosystem change, climate change, etc. The role of public health is to protect, improve health, prevent diseases and injuries. Such a public health approach implies a multisectoral work focusing on "wider health determinants", and within this activity experts from various medical and non-medical profiles, whose field of public health is concerned, can be found. The development of inter-departmental co-operation skills contributes to a better understanding of health professionals and professionals of other profiles, and facilitates common, synergistic actions in addressing public health problems in the community. Symposium on Public Health Achievements and Challenges organized by the University of Mostar Faculty of Health Studies is just another indication of the obligation, the need and the desire for professional and scientific contribution to the fight for better health. Our faculty has so far organized other numerous symposia, and the aim of this symposium is to present public health achievements and challenges in our surrounding in order to protect, improve health, prevent diseases and injuries in a modern way
WEAR AND FRICTION PROPERTIES OF SHOT PEENED SURFACES OF 36CRNIMO4 AND 36NICRMO16 ALLOYED STEELS UNDER DRY AND LUBRICATED CONTACT CONDITIONS
Method of Shot peening is often used to increase static and dynamic strength of the work piece. This method can change the characteristics of the surface layer, and thus the tribological properties of such treated surfaces. The quality of the contact surfaces in tribological terms, refers to the roughness parameters and surface microgeometry. Conclusions, presented in this paper, are the result of numerous investigations of tribological behavior of shot peening surfaces in dry and lubricated contact conditions. As materials for tribological tests 36CrNiMo4 and 36NiCrMo16 alloy steels were used. The paper presents a comparative view of tribological behavior of materials under conditions with and without lubrication, as well as in terms of different values of normal load and sliding velocity. Tribological investigations showed that total effects of final machining by shot peening have positive influence on tribological behaviour of machined parts and that they can contribute to the improvement of tribological level of tribomechanical elements.Publishe
Wear Behaviour of Cr Hard Coatings for Cold Forming Tools Under Dry Sliding Conditions
Cr hard coatings are largely used in industry in metal cutting and cold forming processes; This work on quantitative way represents improvement, in terms of wear resistance, which is obtained by depositing Cr hard coating on foundation material. Wear testing is done on tribometer with block –on – disc contact geometry at sliding contact of Cr hard coated sample with steel disc. Testing was performed in conditions without lubrication at variable value of contact parameters (normal load, sliding speed). Cr hard coatings in all contact conditions show smaller values of wear rate.Publishe
Determination analysis of temperature regimes, functional characteristics and sliding curves of a hydrodynamic clutch
Analysis of output quality of power transmitters is possible in position when characteristics are determined earlier. This is the reason why we focused on determination of these characteristics for a concrete power hydro-transmitter. This means that the investigation task primarily consisted of determination of functional characteristics, defining of the sliding curves and temperature regimes of a concrete hydrodynamic clutch. Results of velocity and pressure field investigations in the working space of this clutch, obtained by use of the same test setup, are the basis for determination and analysis of the functional characteristics, sliding curves and temperature regimes. In this work we also analyzed function of the hydrodynamic transmitter in assembly with an internal combustion engine, as well as a process of acceleration and deceleration of a vehicle with this assembly in it
VARIABLE DRAWBEAD HEIGHT AND VARIABLE CONTACT PRESSURE AS TRIBOLOGICAL INFLUENCES IN SHEET METAL STRIPE SLIDING TEST
For this experimental research, electro-hydraulic computerised device for sheet metal stripes sliding was made. Its main property is realisation of contact pressure and drawbead height as functions dependent on time, i.e. stripe travel. In addition, it is also possible to measure drawing force, pressure, drawbead displacement, etc. The paper presents the preliminary results of the investigation of decreasing drawbead height influence in combination with increasing-decreasing contact pressure function. The stripes are made of low-carbon steel sheet metal of 0.8 mm thickness. Contact conditions are influenced additionally in 2 ways – by mineral oil lubrication, and dry surfaces application. Drawbead geometry, with rounding radii of 2 and 5 mm, is also varied. The results indicate that simultaneous influence of variable drawbead height, variable contact pressure, drawbead geometry and proper friction conditions can influence substantially the plastic flow process.Publishe
Overview of a new method for designing high efficiency small hydro power plants
Significant number of research projects in the area of renewable energy sources (especially for small hydro power plants) has been made within the Department for Energy and Process Engineering and Regional Euro Energy Efficiency Center at Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (University of Kragujevac, Serbia) since early eighties. The results are various; numerous domestic and international recognition and technical performance tell about the success of the research. Research projects have been following the technical and technological development of research equipment and economy growth. This has led to the development of software for designing turbines of small hydro power plants. In order to notify the public about possibilities of our software, in this paper is briefly described a mathematical model and procedures for calculating and designing of small hydro power for known conditions. As an argument for assessing the validity and potentialof our research results is shown constructedsmall hydro power plant Bosnia 1, 2 x 100 kW power
AFM surface roughness and topography analysis of lithium disilicate glass ceramic
The aim of this study is presenting AFM analysis of surface roughness of Lithium disilicate glass ceramic (IPS e.max CAD) under different finishing procedure (techniques): polishing, glazing and grinding. Lithium disilicate glass ceramics is all-ceramic dental system which is characterized by high aesthetic quality and it can be freely said that properties of material provide all prosthetic requirements: function, biocompatibility and aesthetic. Experimental tests of surface roughness were investigated on 4 samples with dimensions: 18 mm length, 14 mm width and 12 mm height. Contact surfaces of three samples were treated with different finishing procedure (polishing, glazing and grinding), and the contact surface of the raw material is investigated as a fourth sample. Experimental measurements were done using the Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) of NT-MDT manufacturers, in the contact mode. All obtained results of different prepared samples are presented in the form of specific roughness parameters (Rа, Rz, Rmax, Rq) and 3D surface topography.Publishe
MICRO SCRATCH TEST CHARACTERISATION OF ZA-27/SiC NANOCOMPOSITES
In this study tribological properties of obtained nanocomposites were investigated using micro scratch tester. Tested nanocomposites were developed on well-known tribological ZA-27 alloy using compocasting technique. SiC nanoparticles (average size 50nm) in different volume fraction were used as reinforcement. Main scratch test results were coefficient of friction, penetration and residual depth. Obtained results for nanocomposites were compared to the obtained results for base ZA-27 alloy. Scratch test results and SEM revealed existence of structural irregularities such as porosity (trapped gas bubbles in material structure) and agglomerated nanoparticles. Existence of structural irregularities mainly diminishes positive effects that are expected from addition of hard nanoparticles.Publishe
