    Isgur-Wise function in a QCD potential model with coulombic potential as perturbation

    We study heavy light mesons in a QCD inspired quark model with the Cornell potential4αS3r+br+c-\frac{4\alpha_{S}}{3r}+br+c. Here we consider the linear term brbr as the parent and 4αS3r+c-\frac{4\alpha_{S}}{3r}+c i.e.the Coloumbic part as the perturbation.The linear parent leads to Airy function as the unperturbed wavefunction. We then use the Dalgarno method of perturbation theory to obtain the total wavefunction corrected upto first order with Coulombic peice as the perturbation.With these wavefunctions, we study the Isgur-Wise function and calculate its slope and curvature.Comment: paper has been modified in Airy functions calculation upto o(r^3

    Resolution of Cosmological Singularity and a Plausible Mechanism of the Big Bang

    The initial cosmological singularity in the framework of the general theory of relativity is resolved by introducing the effect of the uncertainty principle of quantum theory without violating conventional laws of physics. A plausible account of the mechanism of the big bang, analogous to that of a nuclear explosion, is given and the currently accepted Planck temperature of about 10^(32)K at the beginning of the big bang is predicted.     Effective String Theory Inspired Potential and Meson Masses in Higher Dimension

    Nambu-Goto action in classical bosonic string model for hadrons predicts quark-antiquark potential to be\cite{Nambu-Goto} V(r)=γr+σr+μ0V(r)=-\frac{\gamma}{r}+\sigma r +\mu_0. In this report we present studies of masses of heavy flavour mesons in higher dimension with our recently developed wave functions obtained following string inspired potential. We report the dimensional dependence of the masses of mesons. Our results suggest that as the meson mass increases with the number of extra spatial dimension, it will attain the Planck scale (1019GeV \sim 10^{19}GeV) asymptotically at an astronomically large spatial dimension (we call it Planck dimension) DPlanck1011D_{Planck} \sim 10^{11}, which sets the limit of applicability of Schrodinger equation in large dimension

    An analysis of the Isgur-Wise Function and its derivatives within a Heavy-Light QCD Quark Model

    In determining the mesonic wave function from QCD inspired potential model, if the linear confinement term is taken as parent (with columbic term as perturbation), Airy's function appears in the resultant wave function - which is an infinite series. In the study of Isgur-Wise function (IWF) and its derivatives with such a wave function, the infinite upper limit of integration gives rise to divergence. In this paper, we have proposed some reasonable cut-off values for the upper limit of such integrations and studied the subsequent effect on the results. We also study the sensitivity of the order of polynomial approximation of the infinite Airy series in calculating the derivatives of IWF.Comment: 14 pages,6 tables 8 figure

    Semileptonic decay of BcB_c meson into ccˉc\bar c states in a QCD potential model

    The slope and curvature of Isgur Wise function for BcB_{c} meson is computed in a QCD potential model in two different approaches of choosing the perturbative term of the Cornell potential. Based on heavy quark effective theory the exclusive semileptonic decay rates of BcB_c meson into the $c\bar c\ (\eta_c,J/\psi)statesareexploited.SpinsymmetrybreakingeffectsareignoreduptoaparticularpointandtheformfactorsareconnectedwithIsgurWisefunctionforotherkinematicpointsincetherecoilmomentumof states are exploited. Spin symmetry breaking effects are ignored upto a particular point and the form factors are connected with Isgur-Wise function for other kinematic point since the recoil momentum of c\bar cfrom from B_{c}$ is small due to its heavy mass.Comment: 13 pages, 4 tables, 4 figures,Accepted to Int.J.Mod.Phys.
