Purpose: to conduct an analysis of psychoemotional disorders in patients with multiple sclerosis, who are not receiving any treatment for these disorders. Material and Methods. A cohort of patients with a reliable diagnosis of multiple sclerosis, according to the criteria of Π‘ Poseur, consisting of 163 people, was selected for the research. A four-dimensional symptomatic questionnaire was used to assess distress, depression, anxiety and somatization (4DSQ) and a self-questionnaire for evaluating the symptoms of fibromyalgia with quantitative measures (WPI, SS, FS). Re-sults. Differences in the average values of the level of distress, depression, anxiety and somatization in patients with multiple sclerosis of different sex, age, with different type of course and duration of the disease are shown. Conclusion. The neuropsychological status of patients depends on the type of course of the disease, the level of distress β€” from age and sex, the level of somatization β€”from the age of this category of patients. In the complex treatment of this category of patients it is necessary to use symptomatic treatment in addition to pathogenetic therapy, which has not only neurotrophic and vasoactive effects, but also affects the psychoemotional background of patients.</p

Soil biochemical inticators of initial presence of fat in different archaeological contexts

The article proposes a new biochemical approach for the reconstruction of the initial presence of fatcontaining products in different archaeological contexts (ceramic vessels from burials, soil samples in different parts of the skeleton and cultural layers of archaeological sites) based on the study of qualitative and quantitative changes in the parameters of the soil microbial community, namely, specific groups of microorganisms (lipolytics), a number of lipolytic enzymes, as well as the utilization spectrum of readily available low molecular weight substrates. Ground samples of the studied objects were collected in the following regions: ceramic vessels β€” the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania and the Chechen Republic; burials β€” Krasnodar Krai; the cultural layer of the settlement β€” Lipetsk region. The number of lipolytic microorganisms and the level of enzymatic activity in the soil directly depend on the amount of the incoming substrate, in the decomposition of which they participate. After the decomposition of organic residues in the soil, a microbial and enzyme pools are formed, which can persist for a long period. The obtained preliminary data on the study of the decomposition dynamics of fatty substrates give us possibility for the reconstruction of the initial presence of fat in different archaeological contexts using the methods of soil microbiology and biochemistry. But, for a more accurate extrapolation of the results of a model experiment to archaeological objects, more points of observation in time are needed, since the introduction of substrates with different properties and composition can provoke microbial community succession in different ways. Hence, the equilibrium state of the microbial community in each variant of the experiment will be reached at different times. However, the results of the study of soils and cultural layers of archaeological sites of Bronze Age and early medieval time have convincingly shown the possibility of applying our approach. As we assumed, the maximum lipase activity was found in the soil samples under the skull, chest and pelvis, i.e. in areas of human body with the highest content of fat tissues. This showed the possibility for reconstruction the original contents of the vessels from burials using the methods of soil microbiology and biochemistry. A high number of lipolytic microorganisms and lipase activity were detected only in 15–20 % of the vessels. We suggest that fat food may not have been as widely used in the funeral rite as ritual food. The study of lipase activity made it possible to clarify the features of the economic usage of the territory of archaeological site, to identify possible places for cooking

Langerhans cell histiocytosis is mainly diagnosed in children, and its manifestation in adult age is quite uncommon. Skin rashes may be non-specific and mimic a number of dermatoses. Therefore, the clinical diagnosis is challenging and as a rule, such patients are misinterpreted and managed for other disorders by a dermatologist for some years. We present a clinical case of Langerhans cell histiocytosis with skin involvement in a 35-year female patient, who had been treated by a dermatologist for 2 years for pyoderma, seborrheic dermatitis, and skin fold candidiasis. Taking into account the clinical signs and symptoms and age of manifestation, we initially suspected familial benign pemphigus (Hailey-Hailey disease) or follicular dyskeratosis (Darier's disease). However, the histological assessment showed Langerhans cell histiocytosis confirmed by immunohistochemistry with anti-langerin, anti-CD1a, and anti-protein S-100 antibodies. The patient was referred to a hematologist for further work-upand specific treatment. In cases of any treatment resistant disorders, which do not respond to long-term conventional treatment, it is necessary to reconsider the diagnosis by means of histological investigation. It would allow for identification of a disease, which is uncommon in dermatology practice. Detailed Study of the Angular Correlations in the Prompt Neutron Emission in Spontaneous Fission of 252Cf

    No full text
An experiment has been performed at IPHC Strasbourg, aimed at the detailed investigation of angular correlations in the neutron emission from spontaneous fission of 252Cf. Fission fragments were measured by the angle-sensitive double ionization chamber CODIS while neutrons were detected by a set of 60 DEMON scintillator counters. The main aim of the experiment is the observation of the correlation between the fragment spins and neutron emission anisotropy. Preliminary results, based on the Monte-Carlo simulations, as well as the preliminary analysis of the experimental data are shown.SCOPUS: cp.pinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishe

    Neutron emission anisotropy in fission

    No full text
Experimental neutron angular distributions are investigated in the spontaneous fission process of 252Cf. The CORA experiment, presented in this paper, has the aim to study neutron angular correlations in order to elucidate the neutron emission mechanisms in the fission process. The experimental setup is composed by the CODIS fission chamber and the DEMON neutron multidetector. The development of a simulation toolkit based on GEANT4 and ROOT adopted as strategy to investigate the emission of the neutrons is described. Preliminary results on the sources of the anisotropy, scission neutron emission and/or dynamical anisotropy, are shown.SCOPUS: cp.jinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishe
