The factors that determine the formation of the callus at the grafting point, respectively the percentage of vines capable of being planted in the nursery, are of genetic, technological and ecological nature. Thus, the genetic nature of the two symbionts is crucial to the success of grafting. In the present work determinations were made regarding the behavior of table grape varieties Gelu and Paula grafted on three rootstocks RipariaGloire, Berlandieri x Riparia Selection Oppenheim 4-clone 4 Blaj and Berlandieri x Riparia Selection Crăciunel 2. It was found that the highest total content of carbohydrates had the rootstock RipariaGloire (13.49%), followed by Crăciunel 2 (12.78%) and SO4-4(12.02%). In the Vinifera varieties the same indicator was higher for Paula grape variety (14.32%) and for Gelu variety (13.07%). As a result of the grafting and forcing, the following aspects resulted: the percentage of vines suitable for planting was the highest in the Paula variety grafted on Crăciunel 2, respectively 99%, and in the Gelu variety grafted on Ripariagloire, of 98%. The vines for which the grafting point was complete, where the buds entered vegetation and the root primordia was in maximum percentage were found at the Paula / Crăciunel 2 variant, at 76%. Gelu / Crăciunel 2 variant resulted in obtaining the most vines (7%) that formed root primordia at the intermediate node as well

Evolution of the Complexity of Patient Care Activity in a Cardiac Intensive Care Unit

Background and Aim: The Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) is characterized by a high level of complexity of patient care activity, which implies particular responsibilities, skills and demands for professionals in these wards. To face these challenges, effective communication is needed within the multiprofessional medical team. Materials and Methods: We carried out a retrospective study for a period of 8 years (2015-2022), and we evaluated the number of patients cared for, the reason and type of admission, the presence of complex monitoring and life support devices, the activity score for the ICU (OMEGA-RO), and the length of stay in CICU. Results: The evolution of patients from 2015-2019 showed a constant upward trend: patients cared for - from 750 to 960; surgical patients - from 346 to 595; emergencies - from 300 to 508. Also, the number of patients with complex monitoring and assistance increased constantly, from 263 to 485. A constant increase was also observed for OMEGA-RO - from 149 to 170.2 and the average length of stay - from 2.8 to 4.5 days. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic led to a reduction in patients' access to medical services, as evidenced by the decrease in the number of patients during 2020-2021. However, the data analyzed for 2022 prove the return to the trend of increasing the number of patients and the complexity of their care. Conclusions: The high complexity of the patient care process in CICU argues for the need to ensure an optimal level of human and material resources to facilitate the provision of safe and quality care. There is also a need for the periodic participation of the staff in training programs and continuous medical education, which ensures the maintenance and development of the specific skills of the professionals in these departments

The Romanian version of the Juvenile Arthritis Multidimensional Assessment Report (JAMAR)

The Juvenile Arthritis Multidimensional Assessment Report (JAMAR) is a new parent/patient-reported outcome measure that enables a thorough assessment of the disease status in children with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA). We report the results of the cross-cultural adaptation and validation of the parent and patient versions of the JAMAR in the Romanian language. The reading comprehension of the questionnaire was tested in 15 JIA parents and patients. Each participating centre was asked to collect demographic, clinical data and the JAMAR in 100 consecutive JIA patients or all consecutive patients seen in a 6-month period and to administer the JAMAR to 100 healthy children and their parents. The statistical validation phase explored descriptive statistics and the psychometric issues of the JAMAR: the three Likert assumptions, floor/ceiling effects, internal consistency, Cronbach\u2019s alpha, interscale correlations, test\u2013retest reliability, and construct validity (convergent and discriminant validity). A total of 310 JIA patients (11.9% systemic, 21.6% oligoarticular, 31.9% RF-negative polyarthritis, 34.6% other categories) and 100 healthy children, were enrolled in six centres. The JAMAR components discriminated well healthy subjects from JIA patients except for the health-related quality of life psychosocial health subscales. All JAMAR components revealed good psychometric performances. In conclusion, the Romanian version of the JAMAR is a valid tool for the assessment of children with JIA and is suitable for use both in routine clinical practice and clinical research

The present study has as main objective the evaluation of the methods of obtaining a bitter type curative beverage to evaluate the possibility of superior utilization of the medicinal plants. Aromatic and condimentary plants have been used. Among the plants used: Angelica archangelica, artichoke (Cynara scolymus), basil (Ocimum basilicum), Thymus serpyllum, Achillea millefolium, Juniperus communis, Hyssopus officinalis, Salvia officinalis, Origanum vulgare, Glycyrrhiza glabra, Mentha piperita, Melissa officinalis and Fir resin. The variants used were V1 -sweetening sugar, V2 -sweetening with liquorice V3 -unsweetened and V4 -alcohol of 50 %vol. The analyzes were performed according to scientific literature. Alcoholic strength, pH, phenolic compounds and sensory analysis were evaluated. The study shows that it is appropriate to prepare an herbal beverage. The medicinal plants used imprinted the beverage with hints of wild flowers, coniferous trees and other aromaticplants. The liquorice sweetened variant was the most appreciated by the taster

Beinga complex system in continuousevolution, wine needs different stabilization and conditioning treatments.Sulphur dioxide and dimethyl dicarbonate areone of the most used in winemaking because they havean important role in wine protection and stabilization. For this study, nine wine variants were obtained from a blend of FeteascăRegală and Muscat Ottonelvarieties. All samples were treated with6 % SO2solution anddimethyl dicarbonateliquid solution, in various concentrations. Theaim of this experimentwas to follow the evolution ofphysical-chemical and chromatic parametersof wines, depending on treatments used and the analyzes period. The analyzes were repeated and compared atthree months difference. Both treatments, SO2and dimethyl dicarbonateshowed significant influence on the physical-chemical and chromatic characteristics of wines, dependingon added substances concentration and the analysis periods, representing a good alternative for modern winemakin

The Utility of Magnetic Resonance Imaging in the Multidisciplinary Treatment of Patients with Rectal Cancer

Rectal cancer is one of the most common types of cancer in both men and women. In recent years, the importance of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has greatly increased in the multidisciplinary treatment of patients with rectal cancer. MRI has a particularly important role in the most accurate preoperative staging of these patients, both in terms of assessing the local invasion of the tumor and in terms of assessing the status of pelvic lymph nodes. Many patients with rectal cancer, especially those in the advanced stage of the disease, in the preoperative period undergo neoadjuvant radio chemotherapy. The evaluation of the clinical response of these patients to neoadjuvant therapy is of crucial importance both in terms of personalized treatment and in terms of their prognosis. In this regard, MRI has its clearly defined role at present in evaluating the efficacy of neoadjuvant therapy, as well as in postoperative follow-up
