The work report is arranged into 7 chapters: (1) Preparation and characterization of high-Tc superconductors containing Bi and Tl [(Bi,Pb)_2Sr_2Ca_2Cu_3O_y, Tl_2Ba_2Ca_2Cu_3O_y]. (2) Design and installation of a high-field-specimen-vibration-magnetometer. (3) Examination of flux pinning mechanisms. (4) Flux line dynamics in HTSC containing Bi and Tl. Resonanzstruktur des Zerfalls D"#+-#_s#->#K"0_SK"0_S#pi#"#+-#

The high luminosity of PEPII in combination with BABAR's vertexing capabilities offer unique opportunities to study light meson spectroscopy. The basic interest in this domain is the search for exotic states: mesons composed only of gluons (glueballs) or states with an additional constituent gluon (hybrids). Many of the candidates for exotic mesons are under heavy discussion because they might mix with conventional mesons, and some of them are only seen in selected reactions. Many ambiguities can be resolved using a clean initial state which restricts the final state to specific quantum numbers. One group of reactions of this kind are those involving weak decays of D, D_s and B mesons into three particles. In particular the decays to three pseudoscalars allow only a few resonances to occur, while the analysis method is fairly simple. In this framework the selection and the results of a Dalitz plot analysis of the decay D_s"#+-# #-># K_s"0K_s"0#pi#"#+-# are presented. This decay is of particular interest for the discussion of the existence and the spin of isoscalar resonances above 1.5 GeV/c"2. In this mass region the glueball ground state is conjectured to lie and might mix strongly with other isoscalar J"P"C 0"+"+-states. D_s"#+-# #-># K_S"0K_S"0#pi#"#+-# events are selected with high efficiency and low backgrounds from cc-fragmentation events. The selection has been optimized with an evolutionary strategy. A partial wave analysis of the selected D_s"#+-# #-># K_S"0K_S"0#pi#"#+-# decays has been performed using an event based log-likelihood method. This analysis shows that the decay proceeds via three dominant channels of similar strength: D_s"#+-# #-># K"*(892)"#+-#K_S"0, D_s"#+-# #-># f_0(1710)#pi#"#+-# and D_s"#+-# #-># K_0"*(1430)#pi#"#+-#. Two programs, PPM (Plasma Parameter Messung) and PPA (Plasma Parameter Auswertung) are presented for the determination of langmuir probe characteristics (PPM) and for analysis of probe characteristics (PPA). PPA proved to be an excellent tool for langmuir probe diagnostics in low pressure discharges integrating automatic analysis, algorithms for smoothing by digital filters as well as fault recognition and correction for individual measured values. Langmuir probe measurement have been successfully applied to industrial low pressure discharge processes for the control of plasma stationarity and homogeneity and for the characterization of layer growth in vapour deposition processes.
