Some comments on high precision study of neutrino oscillations
I discuss some problems connected with the high precision study of neutrino
oscillations. In the general case of -neutrino mixing I derive a convenient
expression for transition probability in which only independent terms (and
mass-squared differences) enter. For three-neutrino mixing I discuss a problem
of a definition of a large (atmospheric) neutrino mass-squared difference. I
comment also possibilities to reveal the character of neutrino mass spectrum in
future reactor neutrino experiments
Neutrinos: past, present, future
A general overview of neutrino physics is given. The history of the neutrino
starting from Pauli and Fermi is briefly presented. Two-component neutrinos,
the phenomenological V-A theory and the standard model are discussed. The
problem of neutrino masses and mixing is reviewed.Comment: 18 pages, no figures. Lecture presented at the International School
of Physics "Enrico Fermi", Varenna, Italy, 22 July - 1 August 199
Neutrino Mixing
In the first part of these lectures the neutrino mixing hypothesis will be
considered in detail. We will discuss the possible schemes of neutrino mixing
and present the data of the recent experiments searching for effects due to
nonvanishing neutrino masses and mixing angles. In the second part of these
lectures the physics of solar neutrinos will be considered. We will discuss the
MSW resonance solution of the equation of evolution of a neutrino in matter and
present data of solar neutrino experiments.Comment: DFTT 67/92, LaTeX file, no figure
Recoilless Resonance Absorption of Tritium Antineutrinos and Time-Energy Uncertainty Relation
We discuss neutrino oscillations in an experiment with M\"ossbauer recoilless
resonance absorbtion of tritium antineutrinos, proposed recently by Raghavan.
We demonstrate that small energy uncertainty of antineutrinos which ensures a
large resonance absorption cross section is in a conflict with the energy
uncertainty which, according to the time-energy uncertainty relation, is
necessary for neutrino oscillations to happen. The search for neutrino
oscillations in the M\"ossbauer neutrino experiment would be an important test
of the applicability of the time-energy uncertainty relation to a newly
discovered interference phenomenon

On the status of neutrino mixing and oscillations
Evidences in favor of neutrino oscillations, obtained in the solar and
atmospheric neutrino experiments, are discussed. Neutrino oscillations in the
solar and atmospheric ranges of the neutrino mass-squared differences are
considered in the framework of the minimal scheme with the mixing of three
massive neutrinos.Comment: Report at the XVI Recontres de Physique de La Vallee d'Aoste, La

Bruno Pontecorvo: mister neutrino
Bruno Pontecorvo was a great physicist who had enormous impact on the
development of neutrino physics. His contribution to neutrino physics is
briefly reviewed. Some recollections about his personality are also given.Comment: A report at the III International Workshop "Neutrino Oscillations in
Venice", Venice, February 7-10, 200
Neutrino and The Standard Model
After discovery of the Higgs boson at CERN the Standard Model acquired a
status of the full, correct theory of the elementary particles in the
electroweak range. What general conclusions can be inferred from the SM? I am
suggesting here that in the framework of such general principles as local gauge
symmetry, unification of the weak and electromagnetic interactions and
Brout-Englert-Higgs spontaneous breaking of the electroweak symmetry nature
chooses the simplest possibilities. It is very plausible that massless
left-handed neutrinos (simplest, most economical possibility) play crucial role
in the determination of the charged current structure of the Standard Model and
that neutrino properties (masses and nature) are determined by a beyond the
Standard Model physics. The discovery of the neutrinoless double -decay
and proof that neutrinos with definite masses are Majorana particles would be
an important evidence in favor of the considered scenario
Prehistory of Neutrino Oscillations
First ideas of neutrino masses, mixing and oscillations proposed by Bruno
Pontecorvo in 1957 and later development of these ideas are considered in some
details. Original ideas of the two-neutrino mixing proposed by Maki, Nakagawa
and Sakata in 1962 are also discussed.Comment: Report at the conference "History of the Neutrino", September 5-7,

Neutrino Oscillations and Time-Energy Uncertainty Relation
Neutrino oscillations is a phenomenon which is characterized by a finite
oscillation time (length). For such phenomena time-energy uncertainty relation
is valid. This means that energy uncertainty is needed for oscillations to
occur. We consider neutrino oscillations from this point of view. We
demonstrate that for mixed neutrino states, which describe flavor neutrinos
, and , translational invariance does not take
place.Comment: 14 page
