Normative values on various word characteristics were obtained for abstract, concrete, and emotion words in order to facilitate research on concreteness effects and on the similarities and differences among the three word types. A sample of 78 participants rated abstract, concrete, and emotion words on concreteness, context availability, and imagery scales, Word associations were also gathered for abstract, concrete, and emotion words. The data were used to investigate similarities and differences among these three word types on word attributes, association strengths, and number of associations. These normative data can be used to further research on concreteness effects, word type effects, and word recognition for abstract, concrete, and emotion words

The present study’s objective was to evaluate how the science laboratory activities of the Pedro II School’s elementary education, assist the regular classroom teacher’s pedagogical practices. To this end, a theoretical approach was developed which situated science teaching as “scientific literacy”, explained the science laboratory’s creation and development history in this institution and applied an evaluative approach centered on the participants. In the methodological point of view, the study involved two basic stages: the first was a focus group with the Pedro II School’s teachers, considered experienced in science teaching, whose speeches originated the evaluative categories later evaluated. The second resulted in the application of a questionnaire to a group of 12 teachers, all new to Pedro II School, to evaluate to what extent the evaluative categories were present in these teachers pedagogical practices. The data analysis based on the participating teachers’ speeches revealed that the newer teachers endorse and widen the perspective of the science laboratory activities importance for the conventional classrooms pedagogical practices. The newer group of teachers significantly broadened the initial evaluative categories, providing information for the construction of an integrative framework that can serve as a basis to determine the presence of indicators, expressed therein.

Introduction: Tildrakizumab is a humanized IgG1κ monoclonal antibody targeting the p19 subunit of interleukin (IL)-23, approved in 2018 for the treatment of patients with moderate-to-severe chronic plaque psoriasis. Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness, safety and survival of tildrakizumab in the medium term (48 weeks) in psoriatic patients failure to previous biologic treatment in a real world setting. Methods: This was a retrospective, multicenter observational study that included adult patients with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis, failure to previous biologic therapy, consecutively treated with tildrakizumab. PASI and BSA values were recorded at baseline, at 12 and 48 weeks of treatment. Safety and tolerability of tildrakizumab were investigated by examining the presence of any adverse events. Results: Overall 51 patients were enrolled. Baseline disease severity was moderate to severe with a mean PASI score of 19.2 ± 8.5, mean BSA of 16 ± 10.4, and mean DLQI of 18.2 ± 6.8. A significant reduction in the mean PASI score was detected at 12 weeks of tildrakizumab therapy (3.5 ± 2.7, p < 0.001), with a further improvement at week 48 (0.6 ± 1.5, p < 0.001). At week 12, there was a great improvement in BSA score for all groups (p <0.001) with further increase at week 48. The effectiveness was confirmed also by DLQI assessment, with a significant decrease at week 12 and even more at week 48 (p <0.001). Conclusions: This study confirms the effectiveness of tildrakizumab in daily clinical practice in patients with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis

Childhood obesity is a global public health concern linked to metabolic and psychological comorbidities. There is growing evidence that children's lifestyle habits are shifting towards obesity, with dire consequences for their future well-being and healthcare costs. In this interventional study, we enrolled 115 children aged between 4-5 years (53% females and 47% males) and carried out nutrition education interventions to improve their dietary habits. We introduced "Nutripiatto", a visual plate icon and easy guide, which was used by the children during the study. We investigated the children's dietary habits using a Food Frequency Questionnaire at the beginning and end of the study, after one month of using "Nutripiatto". The results showed that the children significantly increased the portion sizes and frequency of vegetable consumption (P<0.001) and reduced the consumption of several junk foods such as French fries and crisps (P<0.001), reaching the recommended dietary allowances and frequency of consumption. Daily consumption of water also significantly increased, reaching the suggested amount of six glasses per day. Based on these results, "Nutripiatto" can be considered an effective visual guide and helpful tool to achieve small changes and empower families to make healthier food choices. It can also be considered an effective educational tool for nutritionists and healthcare professionals to improve children's dietary behavior
