    The aquatic and riverside flora of the Ros river has been studied. The systematic and geographical structure of the flora it was analyzed in order to make prediction of the progress of hydrophilic plants introduction in the artificially transformed pools of the dendrological park “Alexandria”. Special attention is given to the hydrophilic species as those valuable for the national economy and science, as well as to the species to be preserved and those entered in the Red Book of Ukraine and the European Red List.Досліджено водяну та прибережно-водяну флору Росі. Проведено аналізи систематичної та географічної структури флори з метою прогнозування успішності інтродукції гідрофільних видів рослин у штучно трансформовані водойми дендрологічного парку “Олександрія”.     Phase Behavior of Aqueous Na-K-Mg-Ca-CI-NO3 Mixtures: Isopiestic Measurements and Thermodynamic Modeling

    A comprehensive model has been established for calculating thermodynamic properties of multicomponent aqueous systems containing the Na{sup +}, K{sup +}, Mg{sup 2+}, Ca{sup 2+}, Cl{sup -}, and NO{sub 3}{sup -} ions. The thermodynamic framework is based on a previously developed model for mixed-solvent electrolyte solutions. The framework has been designed to reproduce the properties of salt solutions at temperatures ranging from the freezing point to 300 C and concentrations ranging from infinite dilution to the fused salt limit. The model has been parameterized using a combination of an extensive literature database and new isopiestic measurements for thirteen salt mixtures at 140 C. The measurements have been performed using Oak Ridge National Laboratory's (ORNL) previously designed gravimetric isopiestic apparatus, which makes it possible to detect solid phase precipitation. Water activities are reported for mixtures with a fixed ratio of salts as a function of the total apparent salt mole fraction. The isopiestic measurements reported here simultaneously reflect two fundamental properties of the system, i.e., the activity of water as a function of solution concentration and the occurrence of solid-liquid transitions. The thermodynamic model accurately reproduces the new isopiestic data as well as literature data for binary, ternary and higher-order subsystems. Because of its high accuracy in calculating vapor-liquid and solid-liquid equilibria, the model is suitable for studying deliquescence behavior of multicomponent salt systems

    The ontogenetic features of growthes and juvenile individuals of some species of a genus Iris L. (section Limniris) were examined. 6 variations of their growth and developments are found. We propose to characterise over water seed growth as epihydrogenic and under water (natural) as hypohydrogenic.Розглядаються онтогенетичні особливості проростків і ювенільних особин деяких видів роду Iris L. (секція Limniris). Виявлено 6 модифікацій їх росту і розвитку. Пропонується надводне проростання пропагул називати епігідрогенним, а підводне (природне) – гіпогідрогенним типом

    The article provides results of in-house research to assess the impact of induction immunosuppression using antithymocyte globulin (ATG) on the clinical course of post-transplantation period after kidney transplantation. The authors analysed 260 allotransplantations of cadaver kidneys (215 children). In some children (n = 25) the medicine was used for induction therapy, in some (n = 10) to suppress steroid-resistant rejection. Patients in the control group (n = 189) were not administered ATG. The highest actuarial survival rate (both transplants and patients) was recorded in the group of children where ATG was used for induction therapy, rather than just for treatment of rejection.Key words: induction therapy, allotransplantation of kidney, antithymocyte globulin, survival rate, children

Авторы проанализировали 260 аллотрансплантаций трупных почек у 215 детей (части детей проводилась повторная трансплантация почки). У части детей (n = 25) АТГ применяли для индукционной терапии, у части (n = 10) — с целью подавления стероидрезистентного отторжения. Пациентам контрольной группы (n = 180) АТГ не назначали. Наиболее высокая актуарная выживаемость (как трансплантатов, так и пациентов) была в группе детей, в которой АТГ применяли для индукционной терапии, а не только лечения реакции отторжения.
