HERITABILITY AND PATH ANALYSIS OF SOME ECONOMICAL CHARACTERISTICS IN LENTIL
Twenty-nine lentil (Lens culinaris Medik) genotypes were grown from 1997/98 to 1998/2001 at Dicle University, Faculty of Agriculture in Diyarbakir The heritability for days to fl owering and maturity, plant height, height of lowest pod, number of pod per plant, 1000 seed weight and seed yield were estimated as 0.94, 0.78, 0.52, 0.72, 0.37, 0.87 and 0.53, respectively. The path analysis indicated that total biological yield and number of clusters and pods per plant
had very high positive direct effect on seed yield
STABILITY PARAMETERS IN LENTIL
Fourteen lentil genotypes were tested for grain yield in Southeastern Anatolia ecological conditions, over our consecutive years to classify these cultivars for yield stability. Seed yield ranged from 1.903 t/ha to 1.367 t/ha. RM76, RM601 and RM152 showed regression coeffi cient above 1.00, but RM76 among these lines was consistently produced the highest yields. The unstable cultivars, RM601 and RM152 had the highest S2 values and high C.V. for grain yield
Study on Red Lentil Genotypes For Drought And Cold Tolerance And Yield Components
Abstract: This study was conducted at rainfall conditions in Southeastern Anatolia of Turkey, Diyarbakır, during 2011-2012 growing season. This work reviewed the three different lentil nurseries obtained from ICARDA; 1.Lentil International Elite Nursery-Drought Tolerance-2012, 2.Nursery-Early-2012 and 3.Nursery-Red-2012. The experiment was designed a simple lattice (7x7) and (6x6). Total one thousand twenty-two genotypes were evaluated for cold, drought tolerance and other agronomical and botanic traits. Wide variation observed for all traits among genotypes. Hopeful genotypes for earlier, more pods, average yield, drought and cold resistance were selected in first trial. The most genotypes affected by cold in all trials, also, some genotypes in plots killed by low temperature

Agro-morphological characterization of the Turkish lentil landraces
A collection of lentil landraces comprising 39 genotypes from the south east Anatolia region of Turkey and 7 commercial varieties, were evaluated for 23 (8 qualitative and 15 quantitative) agro-morphological characteristics. A wide range of diversity of almost all of the plant characteristics that were studied was recorded for the lentil genotypes. Principal component analysis (PCA) was performed for 12 quantitative traits. The first three principal components accounted for 73.13% of the total variation. PC1 was positively related to the biological yield, the weight of the pods/plant, the number of the pods/plant, the number of the seeds/plant and the weight of the seeds/plant. PC2 was closely correlated with the flowering duration, days to maturity and the diameter of the seed and was negatively correlated to days of flowering. PC3 was positively related to the plant height, the length of the internodes and the protein content and was negatively related to the 100 seed weight. Following the analysis of the agronomic characteristics over the first and second principal components, the lentil landraces formed 4 - 5 different groups. © 2009 Academic Journals
