Estimating market share of white goods sector in Turkey with analytic network process
Bu çalışmada, analitik ağ süreci kullanılarak Türkiye’deki beyaz eşya sektöründe yer alan üç büyük firmanın pazar payları tahmin edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu firmalar beyaz eşya sektöründe son derece rekabetçi firmalardır. Yeni müşteriler çekmek ve piyasada kendi başlarına tutunmak için, makul fiyatlar belirleyerek, kaliteli ürünler üreterek ve servis ağlarını genişleterek rekabet etmek zorundadırlar. Analitik ağ sürecine uygun olarak ilk önce, pazar payı tahmin problemi yapılandırılmış ve modellenmiştir. Bir sonraki adımda, pazar payını etkileyen faktörlerin önemi belirlenmiş ve Türkiye’deki beyaz eşya firmalarının pazar payları analitik ağ süreci kullanılarak tahmin edilmiştir. Karar modelinin geçerliliği için, tahmin edilen pazar payı değerleri gerçekleşen değerlerle karşılaştırılmıştır.In this paper, it is tried to predict the market shares of the largest three companies in the white goods sector in Turkey through the use of the analytic network process. These companies are highly competitive in the white goods sector. To attract new customers and to retain the current ones, they have to compete by setting reasonable prices, produce high quality products and expand their service networks. In line with the sequence of analytic network process, first of all, an estimation of market share problem has been structured and modeled. Next, it is assessed the importance of the factors affected the market share and it is estimated the market shares of the white goods companies in Turkey using analytic network process. The estimated market share values have been compared with actual ones for the validation of the decision model

Evaluation of Low Carbon Development of European Union Countries and Turkey Using Grey Relational Analysis
Energy, especially fossil fuels, plays an important role in ensuring economic growth and improving people’s quality of life. Carbon dioxide emissions produced by fossil fuels is regarded as one of the main factors of global climate change. Although there are different opinions towards the issue of global warming, international communities have made substantial efforts in reducing national and global carbon dioxide emissions. However, low carbon development has been advocated by many countries as a new development model. Low carbon development is defined as utilizing less carbon to promote economic growth in the future. In our age of the increasing importance of climate change, low carbon development is a new form of sustainable development. The ultimate aim of low carbon development is to achieve environmental, economic and social sustainable development. In this context, country comparisons obtained by evaluation of low carbon development indicators are important. In this study, low carbon development levels of European Union countries and Turkey were evaluated by Grey Relational Analysis, which is a multiple criteria decision-making approach
PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF TURKISH TYPE A MUTUAL FUNDS AND PENSION STOCK FUNDS BY USING TOPSIS METHOD
In this paper, it is evaluated performance of Turkish Type A mutual funds and pension stock funds by using TOPSIS method which is a multicriteria decision making approach. Both of these funds compose of stocks in their portfolios, so it can be enabled to compare each other. Generally, mutual or pension funds are evaluated according to their risk and return. At this point, it is used traditional performance measurement techniques of funds like Sharpe ratio, Sortino ratio, Treynor index and Jensen’s alpha. TOPSIS method takes into consideration all of these fund performance measurement techniques and provides more reasonable performance measurement
Tarımsal Üretimde Girdi Kullanımının Etkinliği: Türkiye’den Kanıtlar
The negative impacts of the increase in the demand for agricultural products and changes in the Earth’s ecological system due to climate change have triggered disequilibrium tendencies in the markets for agricultural products both in Turkey and the World. This development has made efficiency in agricultural production more important than ever. The aim of this study is to explore the factors effecting (in)efficiency of input use in agricultural production in Turkey. For this aim, we collected data on crop production by conducting interviews with about 2000 farmers in 17 different regions of Turkey on four different products (wheat, barley, rice, and sunflower). The results obtained by using “Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA)” show that fertilizers are used improperly in agricultural production in Turkey. The results also show that using certified seed increases efficiency of wheat and rice production while land analysis for fertilizer selection increases efficiency of wheat and sunflower production.JRC.J.4-Agriculture and Life Sciences in the Econom
Assessment of the effects of CNR1, FAAH and MGLL gene variations on the synthetic cannabinoid use disorder
Given that drug addiction occurs as a result of complex gene-environment interaction, a number of studies claimed that cannabinoid receptor 1 (CNR1), fatty acid amide hydrolase (FAAH), and monoacylglycerol lipase (MGLL) single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) are associated with the risk of substance use disorders such as cannabis, opioids, and, methamphetamine. However, scientific research on genetic susceptibility to synthetic cannabinoid addiction is limited. In this population-based case-control study, we aimed to evaluate the genetic susceptibility to synthetic cannabinoid use disorder in terms of these three endocannabinoid system genes in the Turkish population
