Complementary methods of treatment of alcoholic dependence syndrome (F10.2) in the practice of a family medicine
A program of a multilevel approach to the treatment of alcohol dependence syndrome (F10.2) in the practice of a family medicine physician based on the combined use of psychotherapeutic correction using a cognitive-behavioral approach, detoxification of the body using singlet oxygen therapy and a decrease in the patient's craving for alcohol by the method of transcranial micropolarization is presented. According to the results of treatment, out of 46 patients in the main group, remission over 1 year was observed in 38 patients undergoing treatment

Multidisciplinary approach in the treatment of spin diseases
The article discusses the method of multidisciplinary treatment of patients with a diagnosis of M54.5 "Low back pain" based on the combined use of physiotherapy, kinesitherapy and correction of anxious depression. It was established that treatment of patients with lower back pain based on the proposed method reduces the level of subjective assessment of pain according to the VAS scale by 28 ± 3% reduces the clinical manifestations of pain and by 21 ± 4% the level of depression according to A. Beck's psychometric table compared to the control group

Extensive astrocyte synchronization advances neuronal coupling in slow wave activity in vivo
Slow wave activity (SWA) is a characteristic brain oscillation in sleep and quiet wakefulness. Although the cell types contributing to SWA genesis are not yet identified, the principal role of neurons in the emergence of this essential cognitive mechanism has not been questioned. To address the possibility of astrocytic involvement in SWA, we used a transgenic rat line expressing a calcium sensitive fluorescent protein in both astrocytes and interneurons and simultaneously imaged astrocytic and neuronal activity in vivo. Here we demonstrate, for the first time, that the astrocyte network display synchronized recurrent activity in vivo coupled to UP states measured by field recording and neuronal calcium imaging. Furthermore, we present evidence that extensive synchronization of the astrocytic network precedes the spatial build-up of neuronal synchronization. The earlier extensive recruitment of astrocytes in the synchronized activity is reinforced by the observation that neurons surrounded by active astrocytes are more likely to join SWA, suggesting causality. Further supporting this notion, we demonstrate that blockade of astrocytic gap junctional communication or inhibition of astrocytic Ca2+ transients reduces the ratio of both astrocytes and neurons involved in SWA. These in vivo findings conclusively suggest a causal role of the astrocytic syncytium in SWA generation

TRP channels coordinate ion signalling in astroglia.
Astroglial excitability is based on highly spatio-temporally coordinated fluctuations of intracellular ion concentrations, among which changes in Ca(2+) and Na(+) take the leading role. Intracellular signals mediated by Ca(2+) and Na(+) target numerous molecular cascades that control gene expression, energy production and numerous homeostatic functions of astrocytes. Initiation of Ca(2+) and Na(+) signals relies upon plasmalemmal and intracellular channels that allow fluxes of respective ions down their concentration gradients. Astrocytes express several types of TRP channels of which TRPA1 channels are linked to regulation of functional expression of GABA transporters, whereas TRPV4 channels are activated following osmotic challenges and are up-regulated in ischaemic conditions. Astrocytes also ubiquitously express several isoforms of TRPC channels of which heteromers assembled from TRPC1, 4 and/or 5 subunits that likely act as stretch-activated channels and are linked to store-operated Ca(2+) entry. The TRPC channels mediate large Na(+) fluxes that are associated with the endoplasmic reticulum Ca(2+) signalling machinery and hence coordinate Na(+) and Ca(2+) signalling in astroglia
