Changes in Polyphenolic Content and Antioxidant Activity of Grapes cv Vranac During Ripening
This study characterised and evaluated the phenolic composition and antioxidant activity of the redwine grape Vranac (Vitis vinifera L.) from the southern Serbian vineyard region during grape ripening.Polyphenol composition at different harvest dates was determined by HPLC-DAD analysis. Antioxidantactivity was estimated by DPPH assay. The study demonstrates that the Vranac variety representsimportant sources of dietary antioxidants. The results show that (+)-catechin, (-)-epicatechin andprocyanidin dimer B2 were the most prevalent in the seeds, and quercetin and malvidin glucosides in thegrape skins. All grape extracts were shown to have high radical-scavenging activity. Strong correlationsbetween radical-scavenging activity and polyphenols suggest that the phenolic composition of the Vranacvariety contributes significantly to the antioxidant capacities of grape extracts. During grape ripeningthere were significant changes in physiological properties and phenolic content, and it is important todetermine optimal harvest time, which will ensure grapes with very good quality parameters (in our studyat the 30th day after véraison)
Cost-effective Ultrasonic Extraction of Bioactive Polyphenols from Vine and Wine Waste in Serbia
By using cost-effective ultrasonic extraction techniques, bioactive phenolic extracts were obtained from Merlot and Vranac (Vitis vinifera L.) vine and wine waste produced in Serbian wineries. These wastes include vine leaves, grape pomace, seeds, skins and stems, which can find further use in the food and pharmacology industries as preservatives against microbes. The extracts showed strong scavenging free radical activity (EC50 from 0.37 to 2.02 mg/L), which was in very good correlation with the total polyphenol content. Strong antimicrobial activity was found against six Gram-positive and five Gram-negative bacterial strains, and against the yeast Candida albicans. The principal component and agglomerative hierarchical clustering analyses performed were shown to be good for grouping and distinguishing the results from thevine and wine by-products (leaves and seeds) from both investigated grape varieties based on the content of various polyphenolic classes, and antioxidant and antimicrobial activities. The valorisation of the grape by-products is consistent with the concept of a sustainable and environmentally oriented wine industry and provides an important economic advantage
AdS-inspired noncommutative gravity on the Moyal plane
We consider noncommutative gravity on a space with canonical noncommutativity
that is based on the commutative MacDowell-Mansouri action. Gravity is treated
as gauge theory of the noncommutative group and the
Seiberg-Witten (SW) map is used to express noncommutative fields in terms of
the corresponding commutative fields. In the commutative limit the
noncommutative action reduces to the Einstein-Hilbert action plus the
cosmological term and the topological Gauss-Bonnet term. After the SW expansion
in the noncommutative parameter the first order correction to the action, as
expected, vanishes. We calculate the second order correction and write it in a

Non-commutative SU(N) gauge theories and asymptotic freedom
In this paper we analyze the one-loop renormalization of the
-expanded Yang-Mills theory. We show that the {\it freedom
parameter} , key to renormalization, originates from higher order
non-commutative gauge interaction, represented by a higher derivative term . The renormalization condition fixes the allowed values of the
parameter to one of the two solutions: or , i.e. to or to
, respectively. When the higher order interaction is switched on,
(), pure non-commutative SU(N) gauge theory at first order in
-expansion becomes one-loop renormalizable for various representations
of the gauge group. We also show that, in the case and the adjoint
representation of the gauge fields, the non-commutative deformation parameter

First Experience in Monitoring of Line Surge Arresters Installed on 110 kV Transmission Line Ston – Komolac in Croatia
In paper are presented some first results and experience in real time monitoring of line surge
arresters installed on 110 kV transmission line Ston – Komolac in southern part of Croatia. Mentioned
line is the first line in Croatian transmission network equipped with line surge arresters (LSA).
The line with its length of 43,95 km is situated in region with high soil resistance, exposed to
one of the highest level of lightning activity in Croatia. At the same time it is the most important line
in connecting HPP Dubrovnik (240 MVA) to the main part of 110 kV transmission network.
Due to all mentioned reasons and great number of annual outages, it was decided to equip the
line with LSA for improving the lightning performance and the availability of line. As result of
performed numerical simulations on simulation line model it was decided to install 110 kV gapless,
IEC Class II line arresters. Also, to improve analysis of expected results the 61 line arresters were
equipped with Excount-II type of monitoring sensors. The main goal was to determine the behaviour
of line arresters arrangement across the line during overvoltage events on towers. This installed “realtime”
monitoring system enables remote control and wireless exchange the collected data from local
data logger installed on LSA. Line arresters activity is monitoring through numbers, date and time and
level of surges and the condition state of LSA, through the measuring of leakage current.
First results in application of LSA are showing significant reduction of line outages with
registered relatively strong activity of monitored line arresters. Also, as it was expected some
particular part of line is espied to be exposed to higher frequency and higher level of registered
arresters surge current. During collecting the data of LSA activity, some practical problems were
encountered with time synchronization between monitoring devices and it is mentioned and discussed
in paper, too.
Although the analysed time period of eight months with LSA application is too short to allow
strong final conclusions, obtained first experience will be very helpful in assessment of further LSA
application in Croatian transmission network

Development of Meta-Geosystems of Tourist and Recreational Clusters
The study aims to find a key to the problem of managing cultural heritage systems in the example of the Temnikov-Sanaksar cluster located in Eastern Europe. This area is situated between the forest-steppe of the layered-tier Volga upland and the forest geosystems of the layered Oka-Don lowland. The article applies an interdisciplinary approach to solving the problem of optimizing inter-component relationships in the meta-geosystems of tourist and recreational clusters. The sustainable development of meta-geosystems should be based on multifactorial information support, which implements the most important condition for the effective economic development of landscapes through the formation of the regions’ spatial data infrastructure. In order to consistently optimize meta-geosystems of different hierarchical levels, it is necessary to solve several emerging issues, such as assessing the strength and nature of inter-component connections in geosystems, determination of factors describing the territorial variation of the properties of geosystems, interpreting and substantiation the semantics of the selected basic factors
On analytical solutions of f(R) modified gravity theories in FLRW cosmologies
A novel analytical method for f(R) modified theories without matter in
Friedmann-Lemaitre-Robertson-Walker spacetimes is introduced. The equation of
motion for the scale factor in terms of cosmic time is reduced to the equation
for the evolution of the Ricci scalar R with the Hubble parameter H. The
solution of equation of motion for actions of the form of power law in Ricci
scalar R, is presented with a detailed elaboration of the action quadratic in
R. The reverse use of the introduced method is exemplified in finding
functional forms f(R) which lead to specified scale factor functions. The
analytical solutions are corroborated by numerical calculations with excellent
agreement. Possible further applications to the phases of inflationary
expansion and late-time acceleration as well as f(R) theories with radiation

ELECTRONS OR PROTONS: WHAT IS THE CAUSE OF FOREST FIRES IN WESTERN EUROPE ON JUNE 18, 2017?
Forest fires in Portugal (June 17–24, 2017) destroyed 64 lives and caused considerable material damage. The coronal hole CH807 and the energy region S5710 were in the geoeffective position on the Sun immediately before the outbreak of fires. In the period that preceded it, as well as at the time of the fires, increased values of the solar wind (SW) parameters (temperature, speed and density of particles) were recorded. In addition, a geomagnetic disorder was recorded. The shape and size of the burning areas, as well as the low air pressure over Portugal indicate the possibility of the effect of positively charged particles that came from the area south, i.e. southwest of Portugal. Nevertheless, it is a specific case that would have to be investigated in more detail
The one-loop renormalization of the gauge sector in the noncommutative standard model
In this paper we construct a version of the standard model gauge sector on
noncommutative space-time which is one-loop renormalizable to first order in
the expansion in the noncommutativity parameter . The one-loop
renormalizability is obtained by the Seiberg-Witten redefinition of the
noncommutative gauge potential for the model containing the usual six
